Job description

VISIT FLORIDA shares Florida sunshine with the world. As the state’s official tourism marketing organization, VISIT FLORIDA has been charged with selling an extraordinary vacation product since 1996. As part of our marketing team, we're looking to fill for our Chief Marketing Officer.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), you will design and execute forward-thinking, data-driven marketing programs that elevate the Florida vacation brand on a global scale. As CMO, you will seamlessly align marketing strategies with internal operations and an extensive network of regional industry partners. While driving key ongoing initiatives to completion, you will simultaneously look ahead to champion the vision and strategy for the next generation of VISIT FLORIDA's marketing.
You will join a talented team and a network of best-in-class agency partners, stepping into a highly collaborative culture rooted in innovation and deep institutional knowledge.
This role has the opportunity to be remote, but must be located in Florida. Must have the ability to travel to the corporate office located in Tallahassee, as needed.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and monitor the annual marketing plan and long-term marketing strategies to promote the Florida brand.
  • Drive cross-channel marketing operations, leading channel strategy and development for paid media, social, public relations, global travel trade, research, and promotions.
  • Steer VISIT FLORIDA's Marketing Committee, collaborating with industry stakeholders to share marketing strategies and campaigns progress. Prepare and deliver dynamic presentations to the Board of Directors and other audiences.
  • Develop and review marketing budgets, manage revenue and expenses, and continuously optimize internal processes for maximum efficiency.
  • Serve as a core member of the Crisis Management Team, developing and implementing marketing-related communication strategies during critical events.
  • Develop, mentor, and supervise internal marketing team. Provide direction and establish performance metrics and goals to optimize internal project management.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, advertising, communications, or related field.
  • 8 + years progressive experience in senior leadership roles, with at least 5 + years of supervisory experience.
  • A strategic thinker who can anticipate trends, build strong stakeholder relationships, and influence at all levels. Must possess exceptional presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and develop a team.
  • Proven ability to thrive independently and collaboratively while managing multiple priorities with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and CRM databases. Salesforce experience is highly preferred.
  • Ability to occasionally exert up to 50 lbs. of force and stand/walk for periods of time.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and valid passport for required travel.
