Compensation:
  • Base Salary Range: $75,000 $95,000
  • Bonus Opportunity: $5,000 $9,000

The Opportunity
The Technical Support Consultant Agronomy is responsible for providing support and training to Lawn Doctor franchisees in the areas of Agronomy (Lawn Care), Horticulture (Tree & Shrub Care) and Outdoor Pest Control (Mosquito & Tick Control).
The Technical Support Consultant Agronomy will develop and maintain treatment programs for all Lawn Doctor services and work in cooperation with vendor partners to ensure these programs continue to incorporate the best products to deliver the best results for our customers while providing cost effective solutions for our franchisees.
The Technical Support Consultant Agronomy will also assist in the startup of new franchisees in the form of initial training and an initial onsite visit. The position requires overnight travel for new franchise startup visits, training sessions, industry events and regional franchise visits throughout the year. Over the course of a year the approximate ratio should be 25% of time spent on overnight travel, 75% of time spent in home/corporate office and local (same day) travel/visits.
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • 35 years of experience in operations, project coordination, or business systems roles, ideally within a franchise platform or shared services environment.
  • Familiarity with or certification in Lean Six Sigma methodologies, Project Management Professional (PMP), or Certified Scrum Master (CSM).
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage artificial intelligence tools and technologies to improve efficiency, automate workflows, and enhance team productivity.
  • Experience making data-driven business decisionsable to analyze operational data, identify trends or process gaps, and recommend solutions aligned to business goals.
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects involving multiple departments (e.g., IT, Marketing, Training, Operations) in a franchise or multi-brand organization; experience balancing competing priorities while delivering on project goals and timelines.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a focus on influencing without direct authority.
  • Proven ability to manage vendor relationships, oversee system changes, and lead cross-functional initiatives.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience developing and maintaining business process documentation and knowledge resourcesincluding SOPs, playbooks, and training materials.
  • Familiarity with platforms such as FranConnect, Field Service CRM systems, or other operations-focused software tools commonly used in franchising.
  • Strong sense of ownership and ability to work independently to solve problems, navigate ambiguity, and move initiatives forward without step-by-step guidance.

Key Responsibilities
Franchise Support
Provide support directly to Lawn Doctor Franchisees in the areas of Agronomy, Horticulture and Outdoor Pest Control. Respond to email and phone requests and assist with identification and determination of solutions for issues franchisees may encounter in their market. Make recommendations for programs, services and products to address their concerns or direct them to existing resources that provide answers to their questions.
Program Development
Develop, maintain and update all Lawn Doctor technical programs to ensure franchisees have access to the most up to date recommendations for their area. Current programs should be maintained in the appropriate section of Franconnect for Franchisee access and updated as necessary to always include the most effective products and services in regard to both effectiveness and cost. As necessary, work with vendor partners and industry experts in the development or updating of our programs.
Training
Develop and update as necessary training content that is valuable to Lawn Doctor Franchisees and their teams in the areas of agronomy, horticulture and outdoor pest control. On a regular basis, review existing content for continued relevance and remove, replace or update as necessary. Work with vendor partners to develop content or provide existing content from their training libraries as deemed beneficial to our franchisees.
Deliver training content through live in-person sessions, live webinars and recorded on-demand learning courses and modules. In-person sessions include New Franchise Training Classes, Lawn Doctor Conference Sessions and other live events that may be necessary from time to time. A webinar schedule should be developed and published in advance with seasonally relevant topics throughout the year. Vendor partners can play a large role in developing and delivering these sessions with oversight to ensure they are in line with Lawn Doctor recommendations. Webinars should be recorded and added to Lawn Doctor University for future value. Add additional content to Lawn Doctor University as needed to provide as much information as possible for franchisees and their team members to develop their skills and knowledge and reduce their reliance on direct 1:1 support.
New Franchise Startup
Conduct on-site initial startup visits with new Lawn Doctor franchisees to ensure the successful opening of new franchise locations. The objective of these visits is to review agronomic programs & products, assist in the initial set-up of service vehicles, calibration of service equipment and review the operation and service procedures for Lawn Doctor equipment. This will include pre-and-post communications and the completion of a detailed checklist to ensure all topics are covered with the franchisee. The Technical Support Consultant will work closely with the Ramp Coach to coordinate the timing of the start up visit and will report back on the results and action items of the visit.
Additional Responsibilities
Licensing Support
Assist new Lawn Doctor franchisees with obtaining the information and material necessary in their state to obtain the required pesticide licenses for the operation of their Lawn Doctor business.
Internal Support
Provide from time-to-time information and guidance to internal Lawn Doctor/Happinest team members in the areas of Agronomy, Horticulture and Outdoor Pest Control. This may include the Franchise Business Coaches, Equipment Support Consultants and Marketing Team Members and others within the organization.
Value to the Organization
The Technical Operations Consultant Agronomy serves as a critical link between technical expertise and franchisee success, translating agronomic, horticultural, and pest control best practices into scalable, high-impact programs. By providing hands-on support, developing effective and cost-efficient treatment programs, and delivering structured training, this role ensures franchisees are equipped to operate successfully and consistently across all markets. Through strong vendor partnerships, ongoing program optimization, and proactive field engagement, the Consultant drives service quality, reduces operational variability, and strengthens franchisee confidenceultimately enhancing system-wide performance and supporting Happinests continued growth and brand reputation.
