This position, offered in a fully remote setting, allows for a flexible work schedule designed to support both our clients and your professional growth.

About the Organization

Nystrom & Family Care Therapy prides itself on creating a nurturing and empathetic environment for trauma survivors. Our outpatient services are tailored specifically to address post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. We strive to equip our patients with not only the tools for recovery but also the resilience to face lifeโ€™s challenges. By prioritizing trauma-informed care, we fulfill our commitment to honoring the diverse experiences of those we serve.

You will have the technological support and resources necessary to maintain connectivity and deliver the highest standard of mental health services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct trauma-informed mental health assessments to thoroughly evaluate patientsโ€™ trauma histories, ensuring personalized treatment plans.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment strategies focused on trauma recovery, incorporating evidence-based practices such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, guiding clients in processing traumatic experiences while equipping them with coping strategies and resilience-building tools.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support for clients in trauma-related emergencies, ensuring immediate and adequate care is delivered.
  • Educate clients and their families about trauma responses and effective coping mechanisms, helping them navigate their healing journeys.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and professional ethics through meticulous documentation and compliance with legal standards.
  • Participate actively in case consultations, team meetings, and continuous education opportunities to refine trauma-informed care practices and stay current with best practices.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will significantly impact a diverse clientele grappling with the fallout of trauma. You will engage with individuals facing challenges related to PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Understanding that each clientโ€™s story is unique, your role will require a compassionate demeanor and a commitment to individualized care, making a profound difference in their lives as you support their recovery process.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of Florida.
  • Knowledge of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment modalities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating a compassionate and non-judgmental approach to therapy.
  • Ability to handle high-stress situations with composure and remain calm while providing urgent care.
  • Proficiency in the use of electronic health record (EHR) systems, along with comfort in utilizing relevant technology for telehealth services.
Preferred Experience

While we prefer candidates with at least 2 years of post-licensure experience, we highly value your passion and commitment to making a difference in the lives of trauma survivors. Experience in delivering trauma-focused therapeutic interventions is highly desirable, setting the groundwork for effective patient engagement.
