What is a remote trauma informed practitioner?

A Remote Trauma Informed Practitioner is a professional who provides support and guidance to individuals affected by trauma, using a trauma-informed approach, while working remotely via phone, video calls, or online platforms. They focus on creating a safe, empathetic environment and tailor interventions to respect the unique experiences of each client. These practitioners often work in fields like mental health, social work, education, or counseling, and help clients develop coping strategies, resilience, and recovery plans. Working remotely allows them to reach clients who may have barriers to in-person care, such as mobility issues or living in remote areas.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote trauma informed practitioner?

To thrive as a Remote Trauma Informed Practitioner, you typically need a background in psychology, social work, or counseling, with specialized training or certification in trauma-informed care. Familiarity with telehealth platforms, secure video conferencing tools, and electronic record-keeping systems is essential for virtual practice. Outstanding active listening, empathy, and cultural sensitivity help practitioners build trust and support clients remotely. These skills and qualifications are vital to effectively deliver trauma-informed support, ensure client safety, and foster resilience in diverse populations through remote channels.

What are the main challenges of working as a remote trauma informed practitioner, and how can they be managed?

One of the main challenges of working remotely as a Trauma Informed Practitioner is building trust and rapport with clients through virtual platforms, as non-verbal cues can be harder to interpret. Practitioners may also experience feelings of isolation due to limited in-person interaction with colleagues. To manage these challenges, it is important to establish clear communication protocols, regularly participate in supervision or peer support groups, and utilize secure, user-friendly technology to maintain client engagement. Setting boundaries around work hours and self-care practices can also help prevent burnout in a remote setting.

Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) – Immediate Opening

Location: Washington State Greater Seattle Area (Hybrid or Remote Options Available).
Job Type: Full-time or Part-time.
Salary: $90,000 – $120,000+ annually (DOE).
Start Date: Flexible / Immediate Availability Preferred.
Office: Skye Trauma Clinic.

Skye Trauma Clinic is expanding. You bring the clinical firepower—we’ll bring the infrastructure.

We’re looking for a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join a growing team of passionate professionals dedicated to providing exceptional care, especially to clients impacted by trauma, stress, or life-altering events such as car accidents or chronic pain. This is a rare opportunity to walk into an established caseload, earn top compensation, and do what you do best—without drowning in admin work.

What We Offer:
  • Highly competitive pay with performance-based bonuses.
  • Flexible remote, hybrid, or in-clinic options.
  • Full admin support: scheduling, billing, credentialing—handled for you.
  • Access to consistent client referrals (injury recovery, trauma-focused, and general mental health).
  • Opportunities for clinical growth, consultation, and paid CEUs.
  • A supportive, therapist-first culture—we value your time, your license, and your sanity.

Who You Are:
  • Licensed in Washington State as an LMHC, LMFT, or LICSW.
  • Passionate about helping clients heal, grow, and reclaim control.
  • Skilled in trauma-informed care, CBT, EMDR, or related modalities (preferred but not required).
  • Comfortable working independently but eager to collaborate with a like-minded team.
  • Able to maintain accurate, timely documentation in EHR systems.

Bonus Points For:
  • Experience working with injury-related trauma, PTSD, or somatic symptoms.
  • Bilingual or culturally competent clinicians.
  • Interest in leadership, program development, or clinical training.
