Job overview:

As a key member of our data engineering team, you will coordinate with multiple stakeholders to design, build, and maintain advanced data pipelines in a cloud environment. Your work will involve applying agile methodologies, addressing security vulnerabilities, and employing DevOps principles to facilitate continuous improvement. You will be crucial in documenting, troubleshooting, and enhancing our data workflows to meet business requirements and support data analytics initiatives.


Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with internal and external entities to ensure tools and software meet defined business and technical requirements.
  • Employ an agile approach to software development, enabling rapid iteration and delivery of features.
  • Address all security vulnerabilities promptly and maintain security accreditation for all data solutions.
  • Design and build data pipelines based on data ingestion patterns and business requirements, deploying them in a cloud environment.
  • Document all data flow aspects and pipeline architectures to ensure clarity and maintainability.
  • Conduct thorough end-to-end quality assurance of data, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of information.
  • Troubleshoot and correct any issues arising in existing data pipelines, improving stability and performance.
  • Apply DevOps principles to continuously deliver enhancements, increasing the value and efficiency of our software solutions.
  • Identify and document potential improvements in our workflows or systems, contributing to optimizing our data processing capabilities.
  • Ensure all source code is maintained in a Customer-wide, remote Git repository, following best practices for code management.


Requirements:

  • Active TS/SCI Full Scope Polygraph security clearance
  • Demonstrated experience with Unix operating systems and proficiency in using the Unix terminal.
  • Proven ability in developing and maintaining data transformation scripts in Python.
  • Experience writing code in Java, Go, C#, Scala, or similar programming languages.
  • Strong background in ingesting, transforming, modeling, and storing data in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Skilled in modeling structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Elasticsearch, MongoDB).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.


Optional skills:

  • Knowledge of database, data warehouse, datalake, and lakehouse concepts.
  • Experience with modern data flow management and orchestration tools (e.g., Flyte, Apache Airflow, Dagster, Apache NiFi).
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes).
  • Proficiency in ingesting, transforming, modeling, and storing data in the Customer’s preferred cloud environments.
  • Understanding of AI/ML methodologies and techniques.
