Join Aprio's Assurance team and you will help clients maximize their opportunities. Aprio Advisory Group, LLC is a progressive, fast-growing firm looking for a Senior Associate to join their dynamic team. 

In this role, you will serve commercial real estate clients that are private owners, operators, developers, and asset and fund managers with a focus on multi-family, office, industrial, retail, and student housing with assets under management up to $750 million.  Engagements include U.S. GAAP and income tax basis audits and fund audits.

Responsibilities:
  • Performing audits, reviews, and compilations for commercial real estate entities and funds across asset types such as multi-family, office, industrial, retail, and student housing  
  • Preparing and supervising audit work papers and adjusting trial balances  
  • Testing audit areas such as rent rolls, tenant leases, and revenue recognition, along with capitalized project costs, debt and covenant compliance, and property acquisitions and dispositions
  • Reviewing partnership and operating agreements to support the audit of equity roll-forwards, preferred returns, and waterfall allocations
  • Owning your engagements from planning through issuance of the audit report
  • Reviewing workpapers prepared by associates and offshore team members, and coaching them through the engagement
  • Utilizing time management to plan and schedule client engagements  
  • Assembling trial balances and compiling financial statements into a written report to be presented  
  • Effectively communicating the accuracy of financial statements and other financial information to clients and co-workers  
  • Continuously fostering relationships with coworkers and clients 
  • Traveling to Aprio's local office and client offices
Qualifications:
  • 3-5  years of audit experience at a public accounting firm, including time as a senior associate.
  • Experience in commercial real estate entities or funds, with familiarity across asset types such as multi-family, office, industrial, retail, and student housing
  • 4-year bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Energetically managing, coaching, and developing staff accountants
  • Analytical skills in relation to financial statements and other financial information
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with clients and co-workers
  • Demonstrating initiative and willingness to lead, make decisions, and work independently
  • Comfort using audit automation and data analytics tools
