This is an exciting opportunity to work for one of the top law firms in the U.S.! Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is looking for a Litigation Docketing Manager to join our team in our Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, or Washington D.C. offices.

This position offers the flexibility to be fully remote while working within reasonable commuting distance from any of our offices.

The Litigation Docketing Manager is responsible for leading the firm's litigation docketing operations, including team oversight, quality control, technology administration, and process improvement. Reporting to the Director, Litigation Docketing, this role ensures the accurate and timely calculation, entry, review, and communication of litigation deadlines and court dates across federal, state, local, appellate, administrative, and specialty courts. The manager leads docketing professionals, partners with attorneys and legal support teams, and serves as a resource on docketing procedures, court rules, and deadline-related risk management.

On a typical day you will:

  • Manage the litigation docketing team, including workload distribution, training, quality review, feedback, and professional development.
  • Oversee the calculation, entry, review, maintenance, and reporting of litigation deadlines, court dates, filing dates, discovery deadlines, appellate deadlines, and related events.
  • Develop and improve docketing policies, procedures, workflows, checklists, best practices, and quality control standards.
  • Serve as a resource for attorneys and staff on court rules, local practices, deadline calculations, and docketing protocols.
  • Monitor court rule and procedure changes and update docketing practices and reference materials as needed.
  • Review docket reports for accuracy, completeness, and timely communication of critical deadlines.
  • Assist Director with administering docketing platforms, including calendaring rules, reporting, user adoption, data accuracy, troubleshooting, and vendor coordination.
  • Support software updates, enhancements, testing, implementations, and system conversions in coordination with docket team, IT, vendors, practice groups, and end users.
  • Deliver training on docketing procedures, software functionality, workflows, and best practices.
  • Maintain procedures, training guides, workflow documentation, internal communications, and reference resources.
  • Manage escalations involving complex deadline calculations, court notices, disputed dates, and advanced rules analysis.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive client, matter, personnel, and firm information.

Join us if you have:

  • 5+ years of litigation docketing, calendaring, or case management experience in a law firm, corporate legal department, court, or similar legal environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred; equivalent litigation docketing, court, or legal operations experience may be considered.
  • Supervisory, lead, or management experience in docketing or legal operations strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with docketing software such as CompuLaw or CourtAlert, including calendaring, reporting, rules-based calculations, matter maintenance, and user support.
  • Experience with software upgrades, rule updates, enhancements, data migration, implementations, or system conversions preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of litigation deadlines, federal and state court rules, local rules, appellate rules, and court-specific practices.
  • Ability to interpret court rules, analyze complex procedural questions, document findings, and clearly communicate guidance.
  • Excellent writing, communication, organization, judgment, discretion, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage high-volume, deadline-driven work and interact professionally with attorneys, staff, vendors, court personnel, and firm leadership.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; experience with document management and matter management systems preferred.

Actual pay will be adjusted based on the candidate's education, training, experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. Full time employees may be eligible for a bonus, health insurance with an optional HSA, long term disability, dental insurance, vision care, telemedicine and virtual short term solution based counseling services, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, subsidized backup care and caregiving resources, 401(k), vacation, sick time, 11 paid holidays each year and an employee assistance program. For full-time employees, the initial vacation benefit is 15 days per year and 11 days of sick leave per year, accrued bi-weekly. Additional voluntary programs include: voluntary accident insurance, voluntary life, voluntary disability, voluntary long term care, and pet insurance. Commuter and Transit programs are also available.

California

The annualized salary range for this position in Los Angeles is $136,000 to $145,000; and in San Francisco is $156,000 to $167,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. Full time employees may be eligible for a bonus, health insurance with an optional HSA, long term disability, dental insurance, vision care, telemedicine and virtual short term solution based counseling services, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, subsidized backup care and caregiving resources, 401(k), vacation, sick time, and an employee assistance program. The annualized salary range for this position in New York City is $144,000 to $171,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
