Job description

Department: CC Reliability 
Referral Bonus: $500.00 USD

Summary

The Reliability Technician will be responsible for proactively monitoring, analyzing, and improving the performance

and reliability of natural gas compression equipment across Enerflex and/or customer's assets in the United States.

This role uses real-time operational data, diagnostics, and trend analysis to identify equipment issues before

failures, helping maximize uptime, optimize performance, and support safe operations.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties
  • Monitor remote telemetry and SCADA systems for compressor packages, engines, auxiliaries, and related field equipment across multiple customer locations.
  • Analyze data to review underperforming units, filter out customer downtime issues. Analyze equipment performance trends, alarms, shutdowns, and operating conditions to identify emerging reliability concerns and recommend corrective actions.
  • Identification of gaps in the operation based on KPI metrics and current organizational operation strategy
  • Escalation of non-reliability related gaps to appropriate personnel (data, behavioral, etc.)
  • Review customer unit reliability reporting from telemetry systems and develop a standardize reporting format per contractual requirements
  • Capture meeting notes and report both internally and externally
  • Support root cause analysis (RCA) efforts for recurring equipment failures, downtime events, and operational inefficiencies.
  • Respond to equipment alerts and abnormal operating conditions in a timely manner and coordinate with field operations, maintenance teams, and customers.
  • Create and manage reliability cases, incident documentation, and equipment event reports within company systems; prioritizing gaps to close or mitigate downtime with continuous improvement projects
  • Provide analysis for failed component replacement with the same component or upgraded component
  • Work with Engineered Systems and Technical Services to optimize package cost from a capital versus maintenance perspective, while collaborating with field technicians, operations personnel, and engineering teams to improve equipment availability and reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Provide input to unit maintenance practices and timing relative to various compressor package components. Identify opportunities to improve monitoring processes, alarm management, and overall Remote Monitoring Center efficiency.
  • Support startup, commissioning, and post-maintenance performance verification activities through remote diagnostics
  • Review overall fleet reliability and reports to the organization as required
  • Perform monthly unit inspections noting overall appearance of the unit, running status, etc.
Qualifications

BS/BA degree desired. Associates degree acceptable.

Excellent organizational, strategic, planning and implementing skills

Experience with natural gas compression equipment, reciprocating compressors, and gas engines.

Familiarity with SCADA systems, remote monitoring platforms, and industrial control systems.

Understanding of reliability principles, predictive maintenance, and troubleshooting methodologies.

Ability to interpret operational data, trends, and diagnostic information.

Experience working with rotating equipment in oil & gas or energy industries preferred.

Proven skills to interact effectively with peers in order to direct and influence workflow, assess performance and

assign duties, while working independently

Ability to converse and collaborate with multiple departments and vendors spanning various disciplines

High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis and reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons or facts

Proficient with telemetry software, reporting and Power BI

Possessing advance computer skills

Effective verbal and written communication

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assets simultaneously

Team-oriented mindset with strong collaboration skills
