• Conduct thorough and insightful assessments to evaluate clients’ mental health and substance use issues, identifying comorbid conditions effectively.
• Collaborate with clients to create tailored treatment plans utilizing evidence-based interventions, ensuring they address both mental health and addiction needs.
• Deliver individual and group therapy sessions focused on developing coping mechanisms, relapse prevention strategies, and skills for emotional regulation.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care by working closely with psychiatrists, nurses, and addiction specialists, ensuring a holistic treatment approach.
• Implement regular substance use monitoring protocols and employ motivational interviewing techniques to empower clients in their recovery journey.
• Educate clients and their families on the relationship between mental health and substance use disorders, emphasizing the significance of adherence to treatment.
• Maintain meticulous documentation of clients’ progress, therapeutic interventions, and necessary referrals in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
• Engage actively in case conferences, staff meetings, and professional development training sessions to continually enhance therapeutic practices and knowledge.

As a licensed mental health therapist at our clinic, you will primarily work with individuals facing the challenges of co-occurring mental health disorders and substance use issues. Our diverse client base ranges from adolescents to adults, each requiring personalized interventions that respect their unique backgrounds, experiences, and recovery goals. The focus on integrated care ensures that clients receive holistic support to achieve optimal well-being.

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in California.
• Proficient understanding of evidence-based practices for co-occurring disorders, including Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
• Strong insight into the interaction between mental health and substance use disorders and their impact on treatment outcomes.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, crucial for effective collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.

• Experience working with a diverse clientele facing co-occurring disorders.
• Demonstrated success in delivering both individual and group therapy sessions, with a focus on evidence-based treatment modalities.
• Familiarity with remote therapy tools and telehealth best practices.
• Previous involvement in interdisciplinary care teams is advantageous.
