Full-time

Posted 20 days ago

Job description

At Eagle Point Software, we empower leaders in architecture, engineering, construction, product design, and manufacturing to transform their businesses by implementing learning and development best practices. We aim to help organizations create positive learning experiences to increase efficiencies and support employee growth.
We help clients unlock their teams' potential with the knowledge to do their jobs better.
We prioritize the success of our clients and go above and beyond to ensure they have the power to create a differentiating factor that sets them apart. That power is an upskilled, knowledgeable workforce.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Application Architect is the technical anchor of our engineering team, responsible for our Azure environment and for the architecture that everything else depends on. This is a rare hands-on-plus-big-picture role: one day you are architecting and writing C# and Angular yourself, the next you are setting the standards the whole team builds against. A defining part of this role is AI: you will help us leverage it in the developer loop to sharpen how our team works and integrate it into our products to expand what they can do. We are looking for someone with deep Azure best practices, real architectural instinct, and the ability to design and build software you are proud of. The right person has the judgment to know when to zoom in on a single line of code and when to zoom out to the whole platform, and the perspective to see how each decision fits the larger system.
Responsibilities
  • Partner with the Solutions Architect to own the system architecture end to end, from proof of concept through design to production.
  • Translate business goals and product requirements into scalable, reliable architecture, and communicate technical direction clearly to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Design and build software hands-on in C# and Angular, setting the technical standards the rest of the team builds against.
  • Maintain clear architecture documentation, including design decisions, system diagrams, and technical specifications, so the team can build and extend with confidence.
  • Own the Azure environment: deploy application workloads into production, manage high-level Azure infrastructure, and maintain infrastructure as code.
  • Engineer and maintain fully automated CI/CD pipelines that build and deploy our web-based applications.
  • Champion security best practices and support SOC 2 compliance across our Azure environment.
  • Drive developer enablement by introducing and scaling AI-assisted development tooling, and help integrate AI into our products.
  • Own the quality bar through code and design reviews, ensuring work conforms to our architectural standards.
  • Benchmark and tune application performance to meet scalability, reliability, and SLA targets.
  • Coach and mentor engineers, growing the team's capability in our development practices and standards.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, and champion adoption of the ones that make sense for our organization.

Requirements
Experience & Education
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 8-10+ years designing and implementing software applications, including large-scale projects, with time spent in an architecture or technical lead capacity.
  • Proven track record balancing hands-on development with architecture and technical leadership.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture and application design patterns.
  • Outstanding collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working in collaborative teams distributed across multiple time zones.
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid / remote working environment.

Azure & Infrastructure
  • Deep hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including deploying application workloads into production.
  • Strong grasp of Azure best practices and the Azure Well-Architected Framework (scalability, reliability, security, cost).
  • Experience with high-level Azure infrastructure and infrastructure as code (IaC).
  • Experience building and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines in Azure.

Security
  • Experience with cybersecurity frameworks, specifically SOC 2 in an Azure environment.
  • Professional experience designing secure software systems and analyzing code for weaknesses and errors.

Development
  • Strong hands-on experience architecting and building software in C#, Angular, and SQL.
  • Experience leading application modernization and integration initiatives.
  • Experience with AI-assisted developer tooling (for example, Claude Code) and a track record of enabling teams to adopt it.

Physical Requirements
  • Constant operation of a computer
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 75% of time (sitting and/or standing)
  • Average hearing and visual acuity
  • Must be able to communicate with others
