Job description

HVAC System Designer – Residential & Commercial

Location- Remote PST hours

We’re looking for motivated designers & engineers who enjoy solving complex problems and collaborating across disciplines.

Responsibilities -

  • Develop HVAC system layouts, equipment selections, and specifications for residential and commercial projects
  • Perform load calculations, duct sizing, and ventilation analysis using industry‐standard software
  • Coordinate designs with architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines to ensure integrated building systems
  • Review project requirements, codes, and standards to ensure compliant and efficient system designs
  • Prepare construction documents, including plans, schedules, and technical details
  • Support contractors during construction with RFIs, submittal reviews, and field coordination
  • Participate in design meetings and communicate technical concepts clearly to clients and project stakeholders
  • Update designs based on evolving project needs, site conditions, and multidisciplinary feedback

Qualifications -

  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, building science, and energy efficiency principles
  • Familiarity with California Mechanical Code, Title 24, and relevant ASHRAE standards
  • Ability to interpret architectural and structural plans and integrate mechanical systems effectively
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a collaborative environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with ArchiCAD (or Revit), Carrier HAP, Trane Trace, EnergyPro, Microsoft Teams, and Office 365
