Theย Transit and Rail Practice is seeking a Technical Editor, located Remotely.

Join a team delivering critical transit and infrastructure projects by ensuring the quality, consistency, and professionalism of project documentation. In this role, you will support the review, editing, formatting, and production of technical reports and other project deliverables, working closely with engineers, project managers, and technical staff. You will helpย maintainย document quality across all stages of development, ensuring deliverables areย accurate, well-organized, visually consistent, and aligned with internal standards and client expectations. Success in this role requires exceptional attention to detail, advanced document production skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative project environment.

What You'll DoKey Responsibilities:
  • Edit, format, and review technical reports, correspondence, and project deliverables for clarity, consistency, grammar, and adherence to formatting standardsย 
  • Perform comprehensive quality control reviews across documents ranging from short memos to large, multi-section reportsย 
  • Apply andย maintainย consistent document formatting, including advanced use of Microsoft Word for large and complex filesย 
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and technical staff to ensure documents areย accurate, complete, and aligned with project requirementsย 
  • Support document production efforts, including compiling content, managing version control, and meeting deadlinesย 
  • Identifyย and recommend improvements to document organization, readability, and overall qualityย 
  • Ensure deliverables meet internal standards and client expectations for professional, polished outputsย 
What You BringRequired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field, or equivalent combination of training and experienceย 
  • Experience in technical writing, editing, or document productionย 
  • Strong working knowledge of grammar, style, formatting, and document control practicesย 
  • Experience preparing, editing, andย finalizingย technical documents using Microsoft Office toolsย 
  • Ability to collaborate with technical staff and review content for clarity, accuracy, and completeness
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in technical editing, document production, or related workย 
  • Advancedย proficiencyย in Microsoft Word, including formatting and managing large or complex documentsย 
  • Experience reviewing long-form technical reports and ensuring consistency across sections and contributorsย 
  • Familiarity with project management terminology such as scope, schedule, risk, change management, and budget conceptsย
