The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. • Conduct thorough mental health assessments of elderly residents, identifying specific psychological and emotional care needs to support comprehensive treatment planning.
• Provide one-on-one and group counseling sessions to elderly clients, focusing on coping strategies for aging, grief, and life transitions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to design and implement personalized care plans that cater to the psychological needs of geriatric residents.
• Educate family members and care staff on mental wellness strategies to enhance emotional and psychological well-being for elderly clients.
• Facilitate counseling sessions focused on grief and loss, helping clients and their families navigate end-of-life issues and emotional pain.
• Design and execute cognitive stimulation programs and mental health interventions aimed at maintaining mental acuity in older adults.

This role primarily focuses on elderly individuals facing various mental health challenges. Supported by proven therapeutic methodologies, you will be engaged with seniors experiencing emotional distress related to loss, transition, or age-related issues. Understanding the unique experiences and backgrounds of our geriatric clientele is crucial, enabling tailored interventions that address not just their mental health needs, but also their personal histories, cultural backgrounds, and individual preferences.

• Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential with a strong professional standing.
• A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in providing counseling services specifically to elderly clients.
• Proven ability to deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions that foster mental well-being among seniors.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on empathy and cultural competence.
