Recovery Mind Counseling Center is actively seeking a compassionate and skilled Trauma-Focused Mental Health Counselor to join our team on a full-time basis. As a Remote Mental Health Professional, you will play an essential role in providing specialized therapeutic support and guidance to individuals dealing with the effects of trauma. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive, trauma-informed assessments to evaluate patients' trauma histories and needs, crafting individualized treatment plans that focus on recovery and empowerment.
  • Implement a range of evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored specifically for trauma, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
  • Facilitate engaging and therapeutic individual and group therapy sessions that assist patients in processing trauma, learning coping mechanisms, and promoting emotional healing.
  • Collaborate effectively with psychiatrists, case managers, and other mental health professionals to provide integrated care that addresses the holistic needs of each patient.
  • Provide timely crisis intervention and support to patients who experience trauma-related emergencies, ensuring they feel safe and supported during critical moments.
  • Educate patients and their families on understanding trauma responses and equip them with tools and resources for ongoing support.
  • Maintain detailed, accurate, and confidential patient documentation following legal and ethical guidelines and utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Participate in case consultations, team meetings, and specialized training focused on trauma-informed care to continually enhance your skills and knowledge in this area.
  • Stay informed concerning the latest research and best practices related to trauma therapy, fostering an environment of continuous improvement within the clinic.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily be working with individuals affected by various types of trauma, including but not limited to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, dissociative disorders, and other related mental health issues. This diverse patient population requires a deep understanding of trauma-related symptoms and a responsive approach to their unique therapeutic needs.

Qualifications
  • A current and valid license in the state of Texas as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Psychologist, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Strong knowledge of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed therapeutic modalities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating a compassionate and empathetic approach to client interactions.
  • Strong proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and various computer applications to manage patient information effectively.

Preferred Experience
