Remote position, however candidates must reside in one of the following states:  Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Michigan, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, or Wisconsin.

Description

The Business Intelligence Developer II (Patient Experience focus) will join our enterprise analytics team supporting patient experience reporting and insight delivery. This role partners closely with patient experience leaders, service line operational leadership, and clinical stakeholders to define meaningful KPIs, translate frontline workflow needs into analytics requirements, and deliver actionable dashboards and reporting solutions.  Our BID roles work frequently with Epic analytic ecosystem components such as Cogito, Clarity, Caboodle, etc..  This role focuses on reporting solutions and user facing tools such as Radar.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The focus of this role is business intelligence dev solutions with Epic Analytical tools (Cogito, Clarity, Caboodle) focused on our patient experience.
  • The position centers on bringing Epic and Press Ganey patient experience data together to produce a connected view of the patient's journey - survey results and patient feedback alongside the operational and clinical activity behind them.
  • A significant portion of the work is semantic modeling: designing well-governed, performant semantic models that make patient experience data trustworthy and self-service ready across the enterprise.
  • Beyond authoring Power BI reports directly, the developer will make those models AI-ready - defining data schemas, authoring instructions that encode patient experience terminology and business logic, and curating verified answers so we can return consistent, trusted responses to common questions.
  • The role will also help configure and tune data agents over patient experience data and support their downstream consumption - establishing the semantic definitions, grounding, and guardrails that make natural-language analytics accurate and reliable.
  • This is a highly customer-facing role requiring strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills through regular meetings, demos, and requirements sessions, rather than a purely backend developer position.
  • The ideal candidate brings strong data modeling and SQL-based analysis skills, comfort working with survey and sentiment data alongside operational data, and the ability to translate results into clear insights and recommendations while independently managing multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • The Business Intelligence Developer (BID) is responsible for all stages of the business intelligence development lifecycle: understanding the business objective, collecting business requirements and translating them into data requirements, designing and developing reports or dashboards, scheduling and deployment of business intelligence components in accordance with best practices, and completing accurate and timely documentation.
  • Remains current on Epic new version training for all applicable Epic certifications.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Epic Certification(s) in Cogito, Clarity, Caboodle -- at least one of these certifications are needed
  • Business Intelligence Developer experience for a healthcare system

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:

  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with major course work in engineering, physics, computer sciences, math, information systems, statistics, or equivalent related experience.
  • At least 3 years of progressive experience in clinical, business, or other healthcare operational areas OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • This position requires that the appropriate Epic certification be successfully obtained for a specific area of assigned responsibility within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Working knowledge and subject matter expertise in the assigned operational department areas.
  • Intermediate oral and written communication skills with a diverse population.
  • Intermediate organizational, problem-solving, analytical, and time management skills.
  • Intermediate interpersonal skills to interact positively and productively with teams across organizational lines.
  • Creative problem-solver with strong focus on achieving objectives within prescribed timelines while maintaining quality standards and organization requirements.
  • Flexibility to manage multiple initiatives and shift priorities based on business needs
  • Typically works with senior staff, but may coordinate smaller or less complex projects independently.
