Job description

At Engine, we are transforming business travel into something personalized, rewarding, and simple. For too long, managing travel and spend has been overwhelming and fragmented; we are here to change that. We believe the future of travel should be seamless and powered by technology that delights customers at every step. That is why we are building a platform that brings together corporate travel, a powerful charge card, and modern spend management in one place.

To make this vision real, we are looking for exceptional, mission-driven people to help redefine how businesses manage and experience travel. More than 20,000 companies already rely on Engine to support over 1 million travelers and billions in annual bookings each year. Cash flow positive with rapid growth, we pair exclusive Engine-only rates, industry-leading rewards, and intelligent automation to help businesses save money while delivering world-class personalization and convenience.

About the Role

Engine is looking for a Director of Talent Acquisition Operations to build and orchestrate the infrastructure that powers our hiring. As we scale, we need a leader who can transform our recruitment operations into a high-efficiency machine with AI and automation at the center of how we work. You will own the mechanics of our hiring process, covering everything from the technology stack and AI roadmap to the standard operating procedures that ensure every candidate and recruiter has a low-friction experience.

This is a leadership role that sits at the intersection of technology, process design, and hiring strategy. You will be responsible for ensuring our Talent Acquisition Partners are equipped to do their best work, our data is clean, and our systems are ready for the next four quarters of growth. If you are a systems-thinker who loves to automate manual tasks and elevate the human side of recruiting, this role is for you.

What You'll Do

  • Process & Enablement: Design, document, and implement end-to-end SOPs for the entire hiring lifecycle, from position management in our HRIS to final hire in Greenhouse.
  • Hiring Capacity Planning: Build and maintain a rigorous planning and forecasting discipline, including a dynamic Capacity vs. Demand model to ensure the TA organization is right-sized to deliver against headcount goals over the next 2 to 3 quarters.
  • Tech Stack Management: Own the TA tool ecosystem and roadmap. You will manage vendor relationships, drive tool adoption at scale, and ensure our systems are integrated and optimized for long-term growth.
  • Innovation & AI: Develop and execute an AI in Ops roadmap, leveraging emerging technologies to improve talent rediscovery and recruiter productivity.
  • Program Ownership: Lead high-impact TA programs including our Referrals program and Talent Masters, an initiative dedicated to upskilling our recruiters and elevating their strategic capabilities.
  • Candidate Experience: Streamline interview coordination through automation and own the SLAs and templates that define how we communicate with talent.
  • Data & Insights: Own the reporting and analytics for candidate experience and operational health. You will use data to identify bottlenecks and drive quarterly OKRs and "rocks."

What You'll Bring

  • 12+ years of experience in Talent Acquisition, with at least 4 years focused specifically on TA Operations in a fast-paced, high-growth tech environment.
  • Expert-level knowledge of ATS, HRIS, and hiring technology. You know how to configure these tools to drive maximum effectiveness and efficiency.
  • A Systems-First Mindset: You enjoy building documentation and SOPs that are practical, scalable, and intuitive for the team to follow.
  • Analytical Rigor: You are comfortable with data and can translate candidate sentiment and funnel metrics into actionable operational improvements.
  • Program Management: You have a proven track record of launching and scaling programs like employee referrals, university hiring,  interviewer training, or CRM and Talent Rediscovery initiatives.
  • Future-Focused: You stay ahead of the curve on AI and automation trends within HR Tech and know how to apply them to solve real-world hiring challenges.
  • Collaboration: You have the ability to work cross-functionally with Finance, People Ops, and Engineering to ensure the TA engine is aligned with broader company goals.

Applications for this role will be accepted through November 20th, 2026 or until the role is filled. We encourage you to apply early, as we may begin reviewing applications before the deadline.
