Job description

Department Overview

Supply Chain Analytics serves as a business-facing partner to SC&L, enabling data-informed decisions that drive performance, cost savings, and operational efficiency. The team translates complex data into actionable insights that support sourcing strategy, value analysis, and supply chain optimization. Core capabilities include decision support (spend analysis, cost modeling, utilization insights), performance measurement through KPIs and reporting, and consultative analytics that guide operational and strategic decisions. Analytics are embedded into workflows using IT-approved tools to improve efficiency and standardize processes.

Operating from a business interpretation lens, the team partners with IT for technical execution, ensuring alignment without duplicating ownership. As a result, Supply Chain Analytics functions as a performance enabler: driving savings, improving efficiency, and strengthening clinical and financial decision-making.

Function/Duties of Position

People Management and Team Leadership

  • You will strategically build and lead a cohesive team, ensuring alignment with the Supply Chain Vision, Mission, and Values.
  • This includes supervising, managing, and motivating team members to achieve high performance.
  • You will set work schedules, prioritize tasks, manage workloads, and resolve organizational challenges.
  • Additionally, you will be responsible for hiring, orienting, training, and evaluating staff performance while establishing processes and tools to improve team efficiency and effectiveness.

Driving Positive Business Outcomes

  • You will provide strong leadership and apply your healthcare supply chain expertise to drive business outcomes.
  • You will focus on identifying actionable insights rather than just raw data to support informed decision-making.
  • This involves interpreting trends, identifying underlying causes, and assessing the impact of changes to supply chain activities, ensuring that decisions lead to positive business results.

Influencing Behavior and Promoting Data-Driven Decision Making

  • You will leverage data insights to influence internal customers and drive behavioral changes that enhance efficiency and performance across the organization.
  • Acting as a liaison between the supply chain team and other departments, you will ensure cohesive strategies and effective communication, aligning analytics requirements with departmental objectives.
  • You will advocate for a culture of data-driven decision-making by leading initiatives that highlight the value of data, delivering training, and educating stakeholders on SC&L practices.

Advising on Emerging Trends and Best Practices

  • You will keep leadership informed about emerging trends in SC&L process that can enhance the organization's analytical capabilities.
  • By staying up-to-date with advancements in commercial market analysis and healthcare industry trends, you will provide forward-looking insights that enable strategic, data-driven decision-making within the supply chain function.

Performance Measurement and KPI Management

  • You will recommend and manage implementation in partnership with University Business Intelligence (UNBI) key performance indicators (KPIs) to enhance operational performance across functions.
  • This includes responsibility for clearly ordering request priorities and translation of functional requirements to ensure associated work can proceed on schedule.
  • This role is also accountability for the final acceptance and adoption of SC&L KPI dashboards, from site-specific metrics to organization-wide performance, ensuring that these metrics are aligned with the business's strategic objectives and are effectively communicated to stakeholders.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • 7 years of progressive experience in Supply Chain Management, Supply Chain Analytics, Healthcare Administration, or similar, including experience using data to inform business decisions.

  • 5 years of team leadership with direct people management responsibilities, or demonstrated leadership of cross-functional initiatives delivering analytics, operational, or performance improvement outcomes; preferably managing technical, analytics, or specialized supply chain staff.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA).
  • 2 years of experience within a complex, matrixed healthcare environment.
  • 10 years of Supply Chain experience, with strong preference for candidates demonstrating:
