This position is entirely remote, with the flexibility to work from home while still maintaining close collaboration with teachers, administrators, and families. The remote work setting empowers you to engage effectively with students and their support systems while balancing your duties from the comfort of your own space. The work schedule mirrors the school calendar, from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, allowing for time off on holidays and breaks, although occasional flexibility may be necessary for events like parent-teacher conferences.

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs, utilizing standardized tools and observational methods.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized intervention plans that address each student's specific challenges, such as anxiety, behavioral issues, or learning difficulties.
• Provide counseling and support through individual or group sessions, focusing on issues like self-esteem, conflict resolution, and crisis management.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and community resources to create and implement strategies that promote academic success and social-emotional growth.
• Identify and refer students needing additional support, such as therapy or community services, forging partnerships with local mental health professionals and organizations.
• Advocate for students' rights and facilitate access to necessary educational resources, empowering families to navigate the school system effectively.
• Conduct home visits when necessary to engage with families and gather insights into the students' home environments that may impact their education.
• Organize and facilitate workshops for students, parents, and faculty on critical topics like bullying prevention, mental health awareness, and coping strategies.
• Maintain detailed and confidential documentation of all interactions, assessments, and interventions related to students.
• Stay informed with the latest developments and best practices in school social work through continuous professional development opportunities.

The focus of this role is on supporting a diverse student population that includes children from various backgrounds and with varied needs. Many students may face challenges stemming from socio-economic factors, mental health issues, or family dynamics. By providing emotional support and effective interventions, you will help to dismantle barriers to learning and ensure that every student has the opportunity to reach their academic and personal potential.

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution is required.
• Current and valid state licensure or certification as a School Social Worker.
• A minimum of two years of experience in a social work role, ideally within an educational or child-focused setting.
• In-depth understanding of child development, behavioral management, and family dynamics.
• Strong knowledge of relevant educational laws, policies, and practices.
• Exceptional assessment and counseling abilities, with a capacity for critical thinking and problem-solving.
• A genuine empathy and cultural sensitivity that enables rapport-building with students and families.

• Experience working within a hospice or health care-related environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with trauma-informed care practices and mental health interventions is advantageous.
• Previous experience developing and leading workshops for educators and parents is a plus.

The salary for the School Social Worker position ranges from $60,000 to $100,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
