Position Overview

Health Access Medical Center is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our innovative team in providing remote mental health services to students in a school setting. This full-time position offers a competitively structured salary ranging from $70,000 to $100,000 annually, based on experience, along with a sign-on bonus for eligible candidates.

Work Environment

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth psychosocial assessments to understand students' unique mental health concerns, strengths, and challenges.
  • Design and implement individualized treatment plans that are culturally attuned and tailored to meet the specific needs of each student and their family.
  • Deliver therapy in various forms, including individual sessions, family meetings, and group therapy, utilizing evidence-based practices like cognitive-behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing.
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed, carrying out risk assessments and developing safety plans to support students in moments of acute distress.
  • Actively collaborate with educational staff, parents, and other professionals to ensure a comprehensive and cohesive support system around the student.
  • Advocate passionately for studentsโ€™ rights and empower them by connecting them to appropriate community resources and support services.
  • Engage in community outreach initiatives aimed at raising awareness about mental health issues within the school context and improving accessibility to mental health resources.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will primarily involve supporting students from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds within the school system. The aim is to facilitate improved academic performance, emotional well-being, and behavioral stability among children and adolescents facing various challenges.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from an accredited institution is required; a Masterโ€™s Degree is preferred.
  • Must hold an active state license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
  • Strong understanding of cultural competence and a desire to work with a diverse clientele.
  • Outstanding communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills are essential to foster trust and rapport with students and families.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience in a community mental health setting or educational environment.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care practices and the ability to apply them in therapeutic settings.
