Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and diagnose psychosocial issues in students, using clinical social work skills to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
• Collaborate closely with educational staff, parents, and the multidisciplinary care team to ensure cohesive and integrated care for each student.
• Conduct comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessments to identify barriers to student success in academic and social settings, ensuring appropriate interventions.
• Document all social work activities and patient progress in medical records following departmental guidelines and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations.
• Offer counseling sessions to students and families, utilizing both individual and group modalities to address mental health challenges.
• Advocate for student needs within the school system and the broader community, connecting families with additional resources and support services.
• Regularly review and update treatment plans while assessing progress to ensure the most effective interventions are in place.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training to remain current on best practices and community resources.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be working with students who face a variety of emotional, behavioral, and social challenges, often related to the complexities of growing up. This includes, but is not limited to, anxiety, depression, trauma, and family issues. Your role will be crucial in helping them navigate their experiences, developing resilience, and achieving their highest potential both in and out of the classroom.

Qualifications

• A Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited institution, along with a current Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license.
• At least one year of clinical experience, preferably within educational or health-focused environments.
• A strong understanding of human development stages and psychosocial issues faced by children and adolescents.
• Ability to apply ethical standards and practices as outlined by the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Code of Ethics.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.

Preferred Experience

• Experience providing therapeutic services in a school setting, with familiarity in handling issues prevalent among youth.
• Knowledge of community resources available for mental health services and advocacy.
• Training in trauma-informed care practices and evidence-based treatment modalities.
