Structures Division provides structural engineering services with an emphasis on new design, repair and rehabilitation, and investigation and performance evaluation of constructed works. We implement innovative techniques for design, analysis, and project management.ย  SGH laboratories support our design and investigation work with material, mechanical, and environmental testing.ย  This combination of experience, capability, and dedication to improving the practice of engineering positions SGH as a leading provider of engineering services.ย 

We are seeking a talented and drivenย Structural Engineerย withย 8+ years of progressive industry experienceย and a demonstrated record of delivering high-quality engineering solutions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This is an opportunity to join a growing team of industry professionals working on challenging and impactful infrastructure and building projects throughout the region.

In this role, you will contribute to all phases of project delivery, including structural evaluation, analysis, design, and forensic investigations. You will serve as a technical resource for project teams, lead the development of engineering drawing and specifications, collaborate directly with clients, and play a key role in mentoring emerging engineers.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Perform structural evaluations, analyses, designs, and investigative engineering assignments.
  • Prepare and review structural calculations, technical reports, drawings, and specifications to maintain quality, accuracy, and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Assist with the management of projects from concept through construction, including scope, budget, schedule, and quality control.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes.
  • Provide construction-phase support, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, conducting site observations, and resolving field issues.
  • Mentor and support the professional development of junior engineers and technical staff.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive service and technical excellence.
  • Pursue professional activities to gain professional recognition.
  • Contribute to the continued growth and success of the Structures Division through leadership, collaboration, and innovation.

What You'll Need:

  • MS in Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Minimum of 8 years of structural engineering experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Strong technical expertise in the analysis, design, and evaluation of varying structural systems and materials.
  • Strong working knowledge of IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI, TMS, NDS, and other applicable standards and codes.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design tools such as RAM, RISA, ETABS, SAP2000, and Revit.
  • Experience managing projects, budgets, schedules, and client relationships.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • A collaborative mindset and passion for delivering exceptional engineering solutions.
  • PE license required; SE license preferred (if applicable).
  • Willingness and ability to travel to remote job sites not accessible by public transportation, and if applicable, an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.
