As a remote workplace, Thrive and Strive Counseling Services offers the flexibility of working from home while ensuring a collegial and supportive environment. Our team utilizes telehealth technologies to conduct therapy sessions and maintain constant communication with colleagues. You will have access to an electronic health record (EHR) system like AVATAR, which simplifies documentation and enhances collaboration across the healthcare team.

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations through initial consultations, ensuring all relevant client information is documented accurately.
• Develop tailored intervention and recovery plans that address the unique needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups experiencing mental health challenges.
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based therapeutic approaches to foster engagement and healing.
• Monitor and document clients’ progress throughout the treatment journey, adapting plans as necessary to maximize effectiveness.
• Collaborate closely with other mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to deliver coordinated care for our clients.
• Provide ongoing support to family members and primary caregivers, equipping them with strategies to manage mental and behavioral health challenges.
• Stay informed about the latest advancements in psychotherapy and mental health practices, ensuring that your counseling techniques remain current and impactful.

Your counseling practice will serve a diverse clientele facing an array of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, and addiction disorders. You will engage with clients from various cultural backgrounds, which requires a sensitive and individualized approach to care. The goal is not only to alleviate symptoms but to empower clients to make positive changes and enhance their overall quality of life.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• A valid license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of California.
• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to maintain clinical documentation accurately and timely using electronic systems.

• Previous experience in a mental health counseling setting is highly desirable, particularly in community health.
• Proficiency in electronic health record systems, with a preference for AVATAR experience.
• Deep understanding of both physical and emotional health conditions, particularly related to addiction disorders.
• Familiarity with AMHCA best practices and an in-depth understanding of how medications prescribed by medical specialists can impact mental health.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, characterized by compassion and a genuine desire to support clients through their healing process.
