Director, Strategic Partnerships, Legal Professionals

CoCounselis the leading AI platform for legal professionals. Partnerships are a core part of that strategy, including the AI companies whose capabilities we integrate intoCoCounseland the consulting, advisory, and implementation partners who drive adoption at scale inside law firms.

We'rehiring a Director of Strategic Partnerships to personally own our most strategic Legal AI partnerships. Thesepartnerships center on deep strategicrelationships, withthe potentialtodrive meaningful commercial outcomes forbothThomson Reuters and our partners.You'llbe accountable for the strategy, the commercial structure, and the results ofa small set of strategic partnerships.

This is a high visibility role, reporting directly to the VP of Legal Professionals Partnerships at Thomson Reuters.We'relooking for a senior operator who can hold their own with partner CEOs and Thomson Reuters executives, build conviction inside ambiguous opportunities, and turn complex partnerships into durable commercial advantage.

Location: The successful candidates will ideally be based inNew York and work in a hybrid environment, spending a minimum of 3 days per week in office. We are open to a remote work arrangement for the right candidate.

About the Role

In this role as a Director, Strategic Partnerships, you will:

  • Personally own a small number of our most strategic AI partners, frominitialthesis through commercial structure through long-term value creation
  • Set the multi-year vision and joint operating plan for each partner, including the commercial model, integration roadmap, and success metrics
  • Drive integration depth withCoCounselproduct and engineering leaders, making sure partner capabilities show up in the product in ways customersfind meaningful value from
  • Lead complex commercial negotiations with partner CEOs, founders, and senior executives
  • Build the GTM motion with sales, marketing, and enablement so partner integrations translate into pipeline and revenue
  • Represent the partnership strategy externally with partner executives, founders, and investors, and internally with Thomson Reuters senior leadership

About You

You may be a fit for the role of Director, Strategic Partnerships if your background includes:

  • 10+ years in partnerships, alliances, BD, corporate development, or strategy, with meaningful time spent in tech or legal tech
  • A track recordof personally owning partnerships that produced outsized commercial outcomes
  • A clear and credible point of view on AI and where the legal tech market is heading
  • Experience leading complex commercial negotiations with C-level and founder counterparts, including deal structures that go beyond standard reseller or referral models
  • Comfortoperatingwith significant autonomy and ambiguity, and earning influence across product, engineering, sales, and the executive team
  • Strongcommercial judgment and the ability tonavigate complex partnerships based on prior experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator who can move easily between a partner CEO conversation, a product roadmap review, and an internal exec update
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet partners and attend industry events
