Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will be responsible for a range of critical tasks:

  • Conduct thorough preliminary interviews with clients to assess their mental, behavioral, and emotional health.
  • Document clinical cases meticulously from the initial consultation through to the conclusion of treatment.
  • Develop personalized treatment and intervention plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups based on their unique circumstances and goals.
  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions using evidence-based practices to promote healing and resilience.
  • Monitor treatment progress and adapt plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes and client satisfaction.
  • Work collaboratively with other mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to create integrated care pathways.
  • Follow up with external providers for clients requiring hospitalization, ensuring continuity of care.
  • Recognize and address behaviors that may hinder recovery, providing proactive interventions.
  • Support family members and primary caregivers in understanding and managing mental health challenges effectively.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your practice will encompass a diverse client population facing a spectrum of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction. By utilizing a variety of therapeutic modalities, you will tailor your approach to meet the specific needs of each client, fostering engagement and promoting positive therapeutic outcomes.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited university.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Arizona.
  • A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Proficient in the use of electronic health record systems, preferably AVATAR.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, complemented by strong interpersonal abilities.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience in a counseling role, particularly in a telehealth setting, is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with clients managing both physical and emotional health conditions, as well as addiction disorders.
  • Familiarity with best practices set forth by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
  • In-depth knowledge of the pharmacological effects of medications prescribed by medical professionals.
