Job description

Growth in the energy storage market is creating demand for commercial leaders who can open doors, build credible technical relationships, and convert complex opportunities into long-term revenue.

We are connecting with Regional Sales Managers for current and upcoming opportunities across Texas and the wider Southern United States.

These positions may be available with battery manufacturers, power-conversion technology providers, system integrators, equipment suppliers, software businesses, and other organizations supporting utility-scale or commercial energy storage projects.

The commercial challenge

This is not simply a high-volume sales role.

Successful candidates will understand how to develop opportunities across long sales cycles involving developers, EPC contractors, utilities, independent power producers, engineering consultants, distributors, and commercial energy users.

Typical responsibilities may include:

  • Developing new business across battery energy storage and related power technologies.
  • Building relationships with renewable energy developers, utilities, EPC contractors, and project owners.
  • Identifying projects at an early stage and influencing technical or commercial requirements.
  • Managing opportunities from initial qualification through proposal, negotiation, and contract award.
  • Creating regional sales plans and account-development strategies.
  • Maintaining an accurate pipeline, revenue forecast, and opportunity database.
  • Working with engineering and product teams to develop suitable customer solutions.
  • Preparing proposals, pricing submissions, presentations, and tender responses.
  • Negotiating commercial terms, supply agreements, and framework contracts.
  • Supporting channel partnerships with distributors, integrators, or installation partners.
  • Representing the organization at customer meetings, conferences, and industry events.
  • Monitoring competitor activity, regulatory developments, and market demand.
  • Providing clear market feedback to product, operations, and leadership teams.

Relevant experience

We would like to hear from sales and business-development professionals with experience in one or more of the following:

  • Battery energy storage systems.
  • Solar photovoltaic technology.
  • Power conversion systems and inverters.
  • Electrical equipment or balance-of-system products.
  • Grid infrastructure.
  • Renewable energy development.
  • Energy-management software.
  • Distributed energy or microgrids.
  • Utility-scale power projects.

A strong profile is likely to include:

  • A successful track record in technical sales, business development, or account management.
  • Existing knowledge of the Texas energy market.
  • Experience selling into developers, utilities, EPC contractors, or commercial energy users.
  • The ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles.
  • Strong commercial negotiation and relationship-management skills.
  • Confidence discussing technical solutions with engineers and procurement teams.
  • Experience developing new territories or strategic accounts.
  • A structured approach to forecasting and pipeline management.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.

Technical knowledge

Candidates do not necessarily need to be engineers, but they should be comfortable discussing topics such as:

  • Battery system architecture.
  • Inverters and power conversion.
  • System sizing and project applications.
  • Grid services and energy-market use cases.
  • Equipment warranties and performance guarantees.
  • Commercial and industrial storage.
  • Utility-scale storage deployment.
  • Project delivery and commissioning requirements.

Location and travel

Opportunities will be centered around Houston, with responsibility potentially extending across Texas and neighboring states.

Candidates based in Houston, The Woodlands, Sugar Land, Katy, or surrounding areas may be suitable.

Regular customer travel should be expected. The exact territory, travel level, and remote-working arrangements will depend on the employer.

Compensation

Base salary, commission, annual bonus, vehicle allowance, healthcare, retirement benefits, and other incentives will vary between opportunities.

Full details will be discussed before your information is shared with any potential employer.

Applications are welcomed from experienced energy-storage sales professionals and from commercially successful candidates in adjacent power, electrical, or renewable-energy markets who are ready to move into battery storage.
