Working for a remote startup often means adapting to a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment where clear communication and self-motivation are crucial. You may encounter challenges such as managing time across different time zones, handling ambiguity in your role, and building relationships with colleagues you rarely meet in person. To thrive, it's important to proactively communicate, embrace flexibility, and be willing to take initiative on projects. Additionally, leveraging digital collaboration tools and maintaining regular check-ins with your team can help you stay aligned and connected.

What Are Remote Jobs Working for Startups?

Remote startup jobs exist in various industries. The duties of these virtual positions vary but typically involve taking part in the development of processes, products, and services for a new business. Since these are virtual positions, you handle your responsibilities over the internet. As a software developer at a startup, you may code and test products or create internal programs that a startup can use on their computer network. As a graphic designer, you may create various images and visual elements for the website and/or product packaging. Startups also need remote business development specialists and accountants to create a development plan, make decisions, and handle the company’s finances.

What is a remote startup?

A remote startup is a newly established company where the founders and employees work from different locations, rather than from a central office. These startups leverage digital tools and online platforms to communicate, collaborate, and manage projects remotely. This model allows for greater flexibility, access to a global talent pool, and reduced operational costs. However, it also presents challenges in communication, team cohesion, and time zone coordination. Remote startups have become increasingly popular, especially in the tech industry, due to advancements in remote work technology.

Job description

Job Description
Full Stack Engineer - Fintech (Remote / MENA Focus)
Principled Search is partnering with a venture-backed fintech startup that has raised over $3M to rebuild cross-border banking and payments infrastructure across MENA. With a small but exceptional founding team, the company is tackling one of the toughest problems in global finance: enabling seamless, compliant, and low-cost money movement across borders.
We are now looking for two Full Stack Engineers to join at the ground floor - defining, building, and scaling the technical foundation of the platform.
The Role
As a Full Stack Engineer, you'll operate as a true generalist designing, implementing, and operating complete end-to-end systems that power modern cross-border payments. You'll have significant influence over product direction, technical architecture, and engineering culture as the company scales.
What You'll Do
  • Full Stack Ownership: Design, build, and operate services and user-facing features from concept to production, ensuring reliability and scalability.
  • System Design & Architecture: Architect distributed systems capable of scaling transaction volume globally with zero downtime.
  • Implementation & Customer Feedback: Work closely with customers and partners to iterate rapidly, aligning the product roadmap with real user needs.
  • Technical Decision-Making: Balance execution speed with long-term scalability, choosing the right technologies for each challenge.
What You've Done
  • 3-6+ years of professional software engineering experience, including taking 0→1 products into production and scaling them successfully.
  • Background in a leading fintech or crypto company
  • Expertise in React / React Native, TypeScript, Node, Supabase, and AWS.
  • Strong full-stack capability spanning frontend frameworks, backend services, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Proven use of AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Claude-CLI, Cursor, or similar AI-first workflows).
  • High personal drive, ownership mindset, and readiness for an early-stage startup pace.
Bonus Points
  • Experience integrating banking, payments, or compliance providers, or fluency in onboarding new financial APIs.
  • Knowledge of ledgering systems, payments infrastructure, or settlement flows.
  • Understanding of stablecoins, blockchain-based payments, or crypto rails.
  • Familiarity with global FX markets and cross-border flows.
  • Arabic language skills.
Why This Opportunity
  • Competitive early-stage compensation + equity
  • Remote-first with flexibility across time zones
  • Direct impact on shaping one of the most ambitious fintech infrastructures in the MENA region
  • Build alongside an elite founding team solving a high-impact, high-barrier global problem

Application Process
Principled Careers is managing recruitment for this role. We take a values-aligned, transparent approach and ensure candidates feel supported every step of the way. Expect a structured and respectful process, including an initial screen, technical or role-aligned assessment, and culture conversation.
We're looking for candidates who are based in, or willing to relocate by Q3 2026 to Washington DC (For US candidates only) Saudi Arabia or UAE. You must have a valid Right to Work in the US and one of the countries listed, otherwise your candidacy will not be considered.
