Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in treatment-planning meetings to provide valuable feedback and discuss patients' progress or challenges faced. This includes documenting updates to ensure treatment plans reflect the most current insights.
  • Effectively identify and address resistance or conflict that may arise during interactions with clients, families, and team members. Your role will be essential in diffusing tension and guiding clients toward healthier coping strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records using established forms, documenting all relevant assessments, treatment plans, interventions, and interactions with families, outside agencies, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Stay informed about the latest DSM diagnostic criteria for diagnosing childhood and adolescent disorders. Understanding human development stages and their impact on treatment will be crucial.
  • Utilize principles of behavior modification, assertiveness training, and supportive therapy, tailoring these methods to meet individual client needs.
  • Gather and analyze comprehensive data during assessments of clients and their families, taking a shared approach with healthcare professionals and leveraging chart reviews for well-rounded insights.
  • Develop, continuously assess, and adjust personalized treatment plans based on individual client evaluations, addressing psychosocial needs in alignment with their cultural and spiritual values.
  • Facilitate educational and therapeutic group sessions, creating a supportive environment where clients can share experiences and learn from one another while tracking their progress and engagement.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role will primarily focus on children and adolescents attending schools in Hayward, California, and the surrounding areas. As an LCSW, you will address a myriad of psychosocial challenges that students face, including anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, and the impact of social and economic factors on their mental health.

Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related mental health discipline is required for this position.
  • Must possess a current, independent license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California.
