What does a remote sound engineer do?

A Remote Sound Engineer is responsible for managing, mixing, and editing audio for various projects from a remote location, rather than on-site. They work with clients and teams online to ensure high-quality sound for music, podcasts, film, or live streams. This role often involves using specialized audio software, collaborating via communication tools, and troubleshooting technical issues remotely. Their expertise ensures that the final audio product meets industry standards and client expectations.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a remote sound engineer?

To thrive as a Remote Sound Engineer, you need expertise in audio engineering principles, signal flow, recording, mixing, and often a relevant degree or certification in audio production. Proficiency with digital audio workstations (DAWs) like Pro Tools, Logic Pro, or Ableton Live, as well as remote collaboration tools, is typically required. Work That Matters. Careers That Last. At Ottenweller, you'll join a fourth-generation, family-owned metal fabrication company that's been building quality products and lasting careers since 1916.

Safety, quality, and production are the foundation of everything we do. Whether you're just starting your career or bringing years of experience, you'll find opportunities to learn, grow, and make an impact. The Senior Enterprise Software Developer designs, builds, integrates, and supports business-critical applications used across manufacturing, operations, finance, engineering, customer service, and executive leadership.

This role requires strong SQL Server and Microsoft .NET development experience, practical architecture judgment, and the ability to translate business needs into reliable, maintainable solutions. Epicor Kinetic development experience is a significant advantage but is not required. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise applications using C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core, Razor Pages, MVC, Blazor, and REST APIs

Design and optimize SQL Server databases, stored procedures, views, functions, indexes, and complex T-SQL queries. Build secure integrations among Epicor ERP, internal applications, Microsoft services, equipment, and third-party platforms. Create manufacturing dashboards, workflow automation, reporting solutions, mobile-friendly tools, and shop-floor applications.

Analyze business processes with end users and recommend practical technology improvements. Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement durable corrective actions. Participate in architecture decisions, code reviews, release planning, documentation, and change control.

Mentor other developers and help establish standards for source control, testing, security, observability, and maintainability. Balance new development with modernization of existing applications and technical debt reduction. Communicate project status, risks, options, and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Education & Experience: 7+ years of professional software development experience, including responsibility for production systems. Strong proficiency in C#, .NET / ASP.NET Core, SQL Server, T-SQL, and relational database design. Demonstrated experience designing and consuming REST APIs and integrating enterprise systems

Experience with Visual Studio, Git or Azure DevOps, IIS, debugging, logging, and production deployment practices. Ability to review execution plans, diagnose performance bottlenecks, and make sound indexing and query-design decisions. Ability to gather requirements directly from business users and convert them into supportable technical solutions.

Strong written communication, documentation, troubleshooting, and ownership skills. Success Profile: Practical problem solver who favors dependable, understandable solutions over unnecessary complexity. Comfortable moving between application code, SQL, integration, deployment, and user support.

Able to work independently while collaborating closely with IT, operations, and business leadership. Curious, accountable, security-minded, and committed to continuous improvement. Why Join OCI Build applications that are used every day in real manufacturing operations.

Work directly with business leaders and see the operational impact of your solutions. Help modernize enterprise systems and influence OCI's long-term technology direction. Solve varied problems across ERP, production, reporting, automation, infrastructure, and data.
