What is remote sound design?

A Remote Sound Design job involves creating, editing, and mixing audio elements for various media, such as films, video games, podcasts, and advertisements, while working from a remote location. Sound designers use digital audio workstations (DAWs) and specialized software to craft sound effects, ambient noise, and other auditory components that enhance the listener’s experience. This role requires strong technical skills, creativity, and the ability to collaborate with teams online.

What does a remote sound designer do?

A Remote Sound Designer's workflow generally involves reviewing project briefs, creating and editing sound assets, and integrating audio into multimedia projects using cloud-based DAWs and file-sharing platforms. Collaboration often takes place through regular video meetings, project management tools, and shared feedback documents to stay aligned with the broader creative team, such as game developers, video editors, or marketing professionals. Clear communication and adherence to deadlines are vital as team members may be spread across different time zones. This remote setup provides flexibility, but it also requires proactive communication and self-motivation to ensure seamless collaboration and timely project delivery.

What skills and qualifications are needed for remote sound design?

To excel in Remote Sound Design, you need a strong background in audio engineering, creative sound creation, and editing, typically backed by a degree or equivalent experience in audio production or a related field. Proficiency in digital audio workstations (DAWs) like Pro Tools, Logic Pro, or Ableton Live, along with familiarity with sound libraries and remote collaboration tools, is essential. Exceptional communication, time management, and problem-solving skills help you navigate project requirements and sync with distributed teams. These core and soft skills ensure high-quality audio delivery, effective teamwork, and success in a remote creative environment.

Structural Engineer - Stress, Design, Systems Engineer

Clearfield, UT • On-site, Remote

Full-time

Posted 11 days ago

Job description

We are seeking experienced Structural Stress Engineers, Structural Design Engineers, and Systems Engineers to support advanced aerospace programs. Multiple opportunities are available across these engineering disciplines. Candidates do not need experience in all three areas; we are seeking engineers with strong expertise within their respective discipline.

The ideal candidates will bring hands-on aerospace experience supporting aircraft structures and/or systems, with experience working with metallic materials, composite materials, or both. Primary aircraft structure experience is strongly preferred.

Opportunities are available onsite in Wichita, Kansas and Falcon Hill, Utah, as well as remote positions depending on the specific program and engineering discipline.

Structural Design Engineering

Structural Design Engineers will support the development, modification, and integration of aircraft structural components and assemblies.

Design and develop aircraft structural components, assemblies, and installations.

Support metallic and composite aircraft structures, with primary structure experience preferred.

Develop and modify 3D models, assemblies, and engineering drawings.

Evaluate structural designs for manufacturability, installation, maintainability, and integration.

Support design changes, modifications, repairs, and engineering investigations.

Collaborate with Stress, Systems, Manufacturing, and other engineering organizations.

Utilize CATIA V5 and SolidWorks in support of design activities.

Structural Stress Engineering

Structural Stress Engineers will perform analysis and substantiation of aircraft structures supporting new designs, modifications, repairs, and program requirements.

Perform structural analysis of metallic and composite aircraft structures.

Evaluate primary structural components and assemblies.

Perform static strength, fatigue, durability, and damage-tolerance analysis as applicable.

Support structural sizing, design optimization, modifications, and repairs.

Develop engineering calculations, reports, and structural substantiation documentation.

Perform finite element analysis using ANSYS and/or Abaqus.

Collaborate closely with Structural Design Engineers to develop practical and structurally sound solutions.

Systems Engineering

Systems Engineers will support the development, integration, and verification of complex aircraft systems and their interfaces.

Support aircraft systems development, integration, installation, and verification.

Develop and manage system-level requirements and interfaces.

Evaluate system architecture and integration requirements.

Coordinate engineering activities across structural, electrical, mechanical, avionics, and other technical disciplines.

Support system-level design reviews, technical investigations, and engineering changes.

Identify and resolve interface and integration issues.

Develop engineering documentation supporting system design, integration, and verification.

Requirements

       U.S. Citizenship is required.

Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline preferred.

Previous aerospace or defense engineering experience.

Expertise in Structural Stress, Structural Design, or Systems Engineering.

Experience supporting programs involving metallic structures, composite structures, or both.

Primary aircraft structure experience is strongly preferred for Structural Stress and Structural Design positions.

Experience with CATIA V5 and SolidWorks.

Structural Stress candidates should have experience with ANSYS and/or Abaqus.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Benefits

These positions provide an opportunity to apply your aerospace engineering expertise to technically challenging programs involving advanced aircraft structures and systems. Whether your specialty is Structural Stress, Structural Design, or Systems Engineering, we are interested in engineers who bring strong technical experience, practical problem-solving skills, and an understanding of real-world aerospace design and development.
