POSITION SUMMARY

Sony Corporation of America (SCA),is seeking anIntern, Security Architectureto join theCorporate Information Security Division (CISD)organizationinReston, VAfor the2026 summerinternship program.This position willbe a part oftheteamresponsible forestablishinga unified enterprise security architecture to secure Sony's information assets, services, and the products that depend on them, building trust with customers and stakeholders, and protecting the privacy of Sony's customers and employees.

The internwill have the opportunity to directly contribute andassistwith projects associated with cloud-based applications, across all typesincludingInfrastructure, Platform, and Software as a Service (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS), an enterprise-wide email security architecture, and global dataarchitectureprograms.Thispositionisfor those interested in pursuing a career in cyber security, security architecture, and security engineering on a global scale.

TheCISDsummer internship program is designed to provide skills, knowledge, and hands-on work experience in the information security and privacy industry, supporting the personal growth of our interns as well as Sony business results.

This 12week summer internship runs from June through August and offers flexibility to work either hybrid or fully remote.

Responsibilities:

  • Assistwithimplementing Security Architecture methodologies in areas of network, cloud,endpointand email.

  • Assistin the development and designof security best practices.

  • Assistwithimplementation of security principles across the organizationin ordertomeet business goals along with customer and regulatory requirements.

  • Assistwithdocumentingthecurrent state and ideal stateofSecurityReferenceArchitecture.

  • Supportdevelopment and refinement of global information security technical standards, guidelines, and training.

  • Research and assess emerging technologies, industry standards,regulationsand threats.

  • Honesty, trustworthiness, and ethical conduct are material requirements for the responsibilities outlined above.

Qualifications:

  • Current student pursuing abachelor'sdegree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Preferred educationinComputer Science, Information Systems, Information Security or Information Assurance,orrelated field with strong academic performance

  • Knowledge of security protocols and frameworks including PKI, SAML, OAuth, TLS,IPSec, VPNpreferred

  • Knowledge of cloud-based infrastructure and platforms including but not limited to: Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, and/or MicrosoftAzurepreferred

  • Knowledge of security toolsets including key management systems, firewalls, multi-factor authentication, intrusion detection systems

  • Broad knowledge across multiple domains including web applications, database technologies, server applications, storage applications, and/or hardware engineering preferred

  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to multitask and quickly apply new concepts toaccomplishassignments

  • Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills

  • Proficient in MicrosoftOfficeExcel,Wordand PPT

  • Previousexperience through work or internship preferred

  • All candidates mustbe authorized towork in the USA

The target hourly rate for this internship is $24.00 per hour. The individual will be paid hourly and eligible for overtime.
