Job description

About Continuant and Our AV Practice
Continuant is a leading global systems integrator and managed services provider. Our AV practice helps customers design, deploy, and manage modern collaboration environments, including meeting rooms, classrooms, training rooms, auditoriums, command centers, digital signage, and other complex AV spaces. We are focused on practical outcomes: reliable rooms, strong customer adoption, smooth handoffs into support, and proactive service that protects the customer experience after go-live.
Position Summary
The AV Project Manager III leads complex commercial AV engagements from kickoff through closeout and Day 2 transition. This role owns project execution, customer communication, schedule discipline, budget health, risk management, and cross-functional coordination across engineering, purchasing, field resources, vendors, trades, and service delivery.
The right candidate is both a customer advocate and an operational safeguard for Continuant. They know how to move work forward, communicate clearly, protect project profitability, and make sure customers are ready to operate and support their AV environment after installation.
What You Will Own
  • Project Leadership: Lead large-scale AV projects across planning, design coordination, procurement, installation, commissioning, customer acceptance, closeout, and service transition.
  • Customer Experience: Serve as the primary customer-facing project leader, maintaining clear expectations, timely updates, and a high-touch experience throughout the engagement.
  • Operational Readiness: Drive Day 1 to Day 2 readiness by ensuring monitoring, documentation, support access, knowledge transfer, and handoff requirements are complete before project closure.
  • Financial Ownership: Manage assigned project budgets, labor plans, change orders, profitability, invoicing readiness, and project health reporting.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner with AV engineering, purchasing, warehouse, field services, sales, account executives, service delivery, and external trades to keep work moving.
  • Risk and Issue Management: Maintain and communicate project risks, dependencies, decisions, blockers, and mitigation plans through project documentation and stakeholder updates.
  • Vendor and Trade Management: Coordinate with general contractors, electricians, low-voltage partners, OEMs, and field technicians to align site readiness, installation windows, and customer expectations.
  • Process Improvement: Identify recurring delivery friction points and help improve project playbooks, handoff practices, communication standards, and reporting discipline.
  • Mentorship: Support and mentor AV project managers by modeling strong communication, project controls, customer ownership, and project recovery practices.

AV Practice Alignment
  • Design: Support discovery, requirements gathering, site readiness, solution alignment, scope validation, and customer expectation setting.
  • Deploy: Coordinate build, procurement, installation, commissioning, customer testing, punch list closure, and acceptance milestones.
  • Manage: Prepare the customer and internal teams for ongoing support, including remote monitoring, escalation workflows, reporting expectations, and support procedures.
  • Walk In, Take Over: Help transition existing AV environments into Continuant support by coordinating assessments, data capture, documentation, and customer-ready onboarding.
  • Proactive Managed Services: Understand how AV monitoring, ServiceNow workflows, NOC escalation, remote triage, onsite dispatch, and lifecycle planning support customer uptime and reliability.

Success in This Role Looks Like
  • Customers understand where the project stands, what decisions are needed, and what comes next.
  • Projects maintain strong schedule, budget, quality, and communication discipline.
  • Risks are surfaced early, owned clearly, and mitigated collaboratively.
  • Install completion and support readiness are treated as connected outcomes, not separate handoffs.
  • Account executives and customer-facing leaders have visibility into relationship risks, expansion signals, and customer experience themes.
  • Project documentation is accurate, timely, useful, and ready for internal teams that support the customer after go-live.

Required Experience and Skills
  • 5+ years of project management experience, with significant experience managing commercial AV, meeting room, conferencing, or technology deployment projects.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction processes, site readiness, low-voltage coordination, installation sequencing, commissioning, punch lists, and closeout documentation.
  • Proven ability to manage multi-site, multi-stakeholder projects with competing priorities, dependencies, and customer-facing deadlines.
  • Experience managing project budgets, labor plans, vendor coordination, change orders, and project health reporting.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with executives, customers, project teams, technical resources, sales teams, and field partners.
  • Comfortable working with project management and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Visio, ServiceNow, or similar platforms.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to create concise project updates, escalation summaries, risks, and customer-facing communications.
  • Professional presence, high ownership, sound judgment, and the ability to stay calm and structured when projects are under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management discipline preferred.
  • CTS, CTS-I, CTS-D, or comparable AV industry knowledge preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, Webex Rooms, Crestron, Q-SYS, Logitech, Neat, Utelogy, or other enterprise AV ecosystems preferred.
  • Experience with managed services, remote monitoring, ITIL-based service transition, or Day 2 support models strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, information systems, project management, construction management, or a related field preferred.

Benefits
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Wellness reimbursement program
  • Matching 401(k) program
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • On-site wellness benefits at HQ, including gym and massage resources where available
