Job description

Gov Solutions Group is hiring talented Data Engineers! This role will be supporting the Naval Research amp; Development Establishment (NR amp;DE) organization, which is part of the Decision Advantage Solutions Hub (DASH) Integrated Product Team (IPT). NR amp;DE comprises 15+ warfare centers in addition to NIWC Atlantic, as well as University Affiliated Research Centers (UARCs) and a Federally Funded Research Development Center (FFRDC). The NR amp;DE has several Communities of Practice (CoPs), whose members are expert representatives from each of the warfare centers. The CoPs are each working on challenges to improve their domain of practice. In many cases, this work is driving requirements for analytics.

As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and optimization of data systems and pipelines that support AI/ML applications within a Navy IT command. You will collaborate closely with AI/ML engineers and other technical teams to ensure the efficient and scalable processing of data. This role involves applying data engineering best practices to develop reliable data pipelines and architectures, enabling the effective deployment of machine learning models and supporting mission-critical defense operations. You will also support data quality efforts, ensure compliance with security protocols, and contribute to improving data workflows across the client’s IT systems.
This position is a remote position.
Responsibilities:
  • Analyzing use cases and high level requirements to define lower level requirements sufficient to design and implement data solutions
  • Analyzing and refining enterprise metrics and business rules in coordination with stakeholders, and identify associated data needs and sources
  • Establishing and refreshing data architectures/models, data standards, data transformations, and data integrations
  • Designing, building, publishing, refreshing, and enhancing references that define terms, metrics, business rules, and the like for transparency to business analysts and other consumers
  • Provide automation through development and deployment of modern software-intensive solutions
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
  • Clearance Requirement: SECRET
  • 5 years of experience supporting corporate operations functions with data management and analysis.
  • 3 years of experience in the areas of data management, data analysis, and data visualization.
  • 3 years Business Intelligence experience in designing and building dashboards, reporting solutions, and data integration using the QLIK Advana reporting suite.
  • Experience in designing multiple data visualization techniques, and applying the most appropriate visualization tailored to different audiences.
  • Experiences related to project planning, recommending timelines and milestones, and identify risk areas; working and consulting with cross-functional teams in the delivery of a product or service; developing analytical models in spreadsheets and using presentation tools to facilitate communication with stakeholders.
