Job Summary

This Engineer 2 is responsible for developing, enhancing, and supporting software applications and data platforms that enable scalable, reliable, and efficient business solutions. Works across the software development lifecycle to design, build, test, deploy, and maintain applications and services in cloud and distributed computing environments. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that support data processing, analytics, system integrations, and business objectives.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Writing and maintaining efficient code for software components, adhering to best practices in development
  • Supporting the design and development of new software applications aligned with business objectives
  • Implementing testing frameworks for software validation, including unit and integration tests, to ensure quality
  • Documenting the software development process, including design and deployment procedures, to facilitate knowledge sharing
  • Analyzing software integration needs and planning system architecture to meet technical specifications
  • Reviewing current practices and technical literature to inform project solutions and applying engineering methodologies
  • Working with Quality Assurance to ensure applications meet technical requirements and fit specifications
  • Troubleshooting software issues, providing resolutions to enhance application performance and user satisfaction
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, or a related technical field and 2-5 years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • developing software applications using one or more programming languages; hands on knowledge of Scala required.
  • Experience with Apache Spark or other distributed data processing technologies.
  • Experience developing and supporting multi-tenant, multi-platform software applications, data pipelines, or distributed systems, including integration with internal and external partners and consumers.
  • Experience building and supporting backend systems, APIs, data platforms, or enterprise software applications.
  • Experience working with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience with data processing, ETL, data integration, or distributed computing frameworks.
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle methodologies, testing practices, source control, and CI/CD processes.
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving technical issues in production environments.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical and business teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
