Highlights:
  • Candidate will have the opportunity to gain experience working on custom biometric systems used internationally.
  • The team is comprised of experienced software development professionals, with expertise in biometric technologies, responsible for designing and developing a biometric facial recognition solution for clients.
  • The system is a custom-built solution.
  • The candidate will be responsible for implementing, integrating, testing, and deploying software updates, patches, and releases for a mature mobile biometric application.
  • In this position, the candidate will expand their knowledge base in developing fingerprint and facial recognition systems.

Typical Day:
The candidate would be expected to work a standard 40-hour work week remotely (preferred from the National Capital Region, Tampa or Orlando area). Each week the developer will meet with the project manager. Together, they will define tasks to be accomplished for the week. Each Thursday, the developer will provide a software demonstration of code developed for the week (or for the software sprint).
Tasks:
  • Using .NET Core, develop website enhancements and biometrics services for cross-platform deployment
  • Using MAUI, support the development and enhancements of a mature mobile biometric application
  • Integrate biometric algorithms into mobile and server-based collection applications
  • Test developed applications in an Azure DevOps Cloud Computing Environment

Required Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years of software development experience in MAUI
  • 3-5 years of experience in design, development, and testing biometric applications supporting collection and matching of biometric modalities (e.g., fingerprint)
  • Experience with Android development principles, patterns, and best practices
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline
  • US Citizenship required

Desired Qualifications:
  • Strong experience developing Android mobile applications
  • 3-5 years of experience developing C# Android applications in MAUI
  • Some experience developing in Java and C++
  • Experience developing scaling systems and mobile/server synchronization
  • Familiarity with ANSI/NIST Electronic Biometric Transmission Specification (EBTS) v1.2 and 4.1
  • Biometric software development experience with specific multimodal-fingerprint and face-experience preferred
