What does a remote software developer do?

Remote software developers design and create computer software programs and systems for their employer or client. Unlike in-house software developers, remote software developers work from home or another location outside of the office. As a remote software developer, you discuss the kind of program you need to create, making sure to clarify with your department or with your client what they need in their application. You may develop an entirely new program or improve an existing one. Remote developers are responsible for a program’s overall framework, and they design precise workflow charts that explain to programmers what code is needed for different aspects of the program. Remote software developers also design tests and protocols for the QA department to follow when they are testing the application.

  • Champion data-driven decision-making, A/B testing frameworks, and performance optimization initiatives
  • Establish engineering best practices for scalability, reliability, security, and speed-to-market
  • Collaborate with Product and Analytics teams to deliver personalized customer experiences
  • Manage vendor relationships and make strategic build vs. buy decisions
  • Build and mentor engineering leaders, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Own and oversee the architecture, performance, and continuous optimization of the AmeriSave website as a core marketing and lead generation platform
What You Bring

  • Strong background in modern web architecture, APIs, and scalable, cloud-based systems
  • Experience integrating CRM systems (Salesforce, etc.) and marketing automation platforms
  • Demonstrated success partnering with Marketing and Product teams to drive measurable business outcomes
  • Expertise in data-driven engineering, including analytics, performance tracking, and experimentation frameworks
  • Track record of building and scaling high-performing engineering teams
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in fintech, mortgage, or high-volume lead generation environments
  • Familiarity with martech ecosystems (CDPs, attribution tools, paid media integrations)
