SAIL Case Manager Supervisor (Remote)

The Navyโ€™s Sailor Assistance and Intercept for Life (SAIL) program was designed to allow for command support and involvement throughout a Sailorโ€™s recovery following a suicide-related incident toย optimizeย successful reintegration and to ensure missionย readiness.ย ย Through a series of voluntary caringย clientย contacts with SAIL Case Managers, SAILย monitorsย a Sailorโ€™s healing progress by using evidence-based tools at various stages of his/her recovery. SAIL may also increase a Sailorโ€™s compliance with existing treatment through monitoring and command support while empowering the Sailor to strengthen their coping skills and build resilience.ย ย SAIL provides rapid-assistance clinical case management services addressing risk management, care coordination and reintegrationย assistanceย for Sailorsย identifiedย during the period of highest risk after an event involving suicidal thoughts or behaviors.ย 

The SAIL Supervisor works as a full-time employee of Zeiders Enterprises and provides management support and oversight to the SAIL Case Managers as part of the CNIC Fleet and Family Support Program (FFSP) Global Staffing Contract.ย ย This position is virtual,ย butย candidatesย must beย physicallyย locatedย withinย a commutable distanceย of aย militaryย installationย for the purpose ofย CACย card issuance.ย 

ย Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesย 

  • ย Government Interface:ย Establishesย and maintains effective working relationship with area of responsibilityย government points of contact.ย Communicates concerns/questionsย regardingย contract performance to the SAIL Operations Manager. Seeks consultation with SAIL Operations Managerย regardingย policy exceptions and personnel issues.ย ย Provides input to the required monthly and quarterly reports.ย 
  • Contract Staffing:ย Follows corporate recruiting and contract specific processes to advertise, recruit and hire contract staff. Ensures new employeeย participateย inย initialย Zeidersโ€™ staff orientation and oversees job-related orientation and training compliance. Collects all required employee paperwork.ย 
  • Staff Support:ย Serves as the primary corporate management resource for staff atย area of responsibility. Ensures that staff has the necessary resources to fulfill their job responsibilities. Provides regular, scheduled supervision and performance management feedback either telephonically or via web conferencing.ย Conducts SAIL record reviews and provides consultation to SAIL Case Managers.ย Ensures that staffย complies withย corporate policiesย regardingย timekeeping, paid time off, and reporting requirements. Approves timesheets and keeps leave schedules. Initiates staff appreciation asย appropriate.ย 
  • Contract Monitoring:ย Ensures that contract requirements are met and complianceย maintained. Reviews input for monthly/quarterly reports.ย Advisesย contract senior management of any contractual issues that may result in Contracting Office action and of anyย anticipatedย or proposed adverse personnel action. Works cooperatively with the contract senior management in developing and implementing solutions to contract-related challenges. Monitors program activities and changes through interaction with contract senior management to creatively problem-solve for ensuring compliance with contract requirements and performs periodic audits.ย 
  • Quality Control:ย Ensures the implementation and maintenanceย ofย required Quality Control plan requirements that support the contract objectives.ย ย Participatesย in CNICย HQย quarterly quality assurance procedures to ensure that all SAIL services provided are safe and ofย good quality.ย 
  • Staff Recruitment:ย Initiates staff recruiting processย in accordance withย Zeidersโ€™ corporate and contract specific hiring procedures. This includesย initiatingย the recruiting process,ย receivingย and reviewing qualified resumes from the recruiter, interviewing qualified candidates, notifying recruiter on candidateย selection,ย andย submittingย all required approval paperwork.ย 
  • Contract operations: Understands CNIC SAIL Program PWS requirements, SAIL Program Guide, SAIL FFSMIS User Guide, and Zeidersโ€™ compliance policies and practices. Understands the relationship between the government customer and Zeidersโ€™ staff. Participates in Zeiders management meetingsย 
  • Program and Personnel Management: Direct Supervisor for SAIL Case Managers within the area of responsibility.ย ย Provide oversight, performance monitoring, leadership development support, and consultation. Hiring manager for area of responsibility SAIL Case Managerย and Social Service Associate positions.ย Provides SAILย training to case managersย regardingย SAIL record documentation, SAILย policiesย and procedures, including all protocol referenced in the SAIL Program Guide.ย 
  • Serves as SAIL Case Manager in support of client needs during staff absences or vacancies.ย ย 

Required Qualificationsย ย 

  • Minimum educational qualifications include one of the following; a masterโ€™s degree in counseling accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs; a masterโ€™s degree in social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, a masterโ€™s degree in marriage and family therapy accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Marriage and Family Therapy Education, or a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology and a one-year clinical internship accredited by the American Psychological Association.ย 
  • Current, valid and unrestricted clinical license or certification from a state or U.S. territory authorizing independent clinical practice in the fields of professional counseling, clinical social work, marriage and family therapy or clinical/counseling psychology- LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker), LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist), LCP (Licensed Clinical Psychologist/ Licensed PhD in Psychology), LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor)ย -ย except if licensed in Illinois,ย LCPC (Licensed Certified Professional Counselor), LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor)ย ย 
  • Each SAIL Caseย Supervisorย mustย maintainย current clinical credentials and privileges throughout their FFSP assignmentย 
  • SAIL Case Supervisors must meet or exceed the requirements for Tier III clinical practitioners.ย ย ย 
  • SAIL Case Manager Supervisors must meet the standards of professional and ethical conduct prescribed by their discipline or licensing board andย demonstrateย current clinical competence through at least periodic, direct service clinical experience during the 2 years preceding hireย 
  • A minimum of two yearsย of full-time, post licensedย clinicalย experience.ย 
  • 1+ yearsย personnel management/staff supervision of licensed mental health providers.ย 
  • 2+ years providing case management to clinical clients.ย 
  • 1+ year experience providing clinical services on a telehealth platform.ย 
  • Minimum of 6 months experience with managing crises with suicidal clients and implementing safety plans.ย 
  • Minimum of 6 months experience assessing suicidality risk.ย 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software and skilled in the use of office software.ย 
  • Knowledge of standard documentation requirements for clinical services.ย 
  • Experience working in a virtual environment and competency in telehealth clinical service delivery.ย 
  • Ability to work and thrive in a high stress environmentย 
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgroundย 
  • Proficiencyย in oral and written communication skillsย 
  • Must be physicallyย locatedย within a reasonable commuting distance of a military installation.ย 
  • Must be flexible to work hours outside of core business hours as needed to support the assigned area of responsibility.ย

  • Live local to the assigned area of responsibilityย 
  • FFSC and SAIL Case Management experienceย 
  • Knowledge of the difficulties of adjusting to general life stresses as well as those resulting from the requirements of military life, and experience providing short-term counseling for those issuesย 
  • Knowledge of available military and community referral resourcesย 
  • Ability to effectively communicate directly with Command Leadership (Commanding Officer, Executive Officer, Command Master Chief)ย
