Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our dynamic team at Peoples Movement Psychiatric Solutions. In this full-time remote role, you will be instrumental in providing high-quality therapeutic services to individuals dealing with substance use disorders and mental health challenges at our detox center. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting comprehensive assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and leading both individual and group therapy sessions. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough virtual psychosocial evaluations to assess clientsโ€™ strengths, needs, and challenges related to substance use and mental health.
  • Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans that address the specific needs of each client.
  • Facilitate individual therapy sessions and structured group therapy to engage clients in their recovery process, employing techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, nursing staff, and other healthcare providers to ensure seamless integration of care, focusing on both immediate and long-term wellness strategies.
  • Advocate for clientsโ€™ needs and navigate barriers to accessing community resources and support services to enhance their recovery experience.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation of client interactions, treatment progress, and outcomes within our electronic health records system, ensuring compliance with confidentiality standards.
  • Participate actively in team meetings and case conferences, sharing insights and strategies to enhance client outcomes and foster professional learning.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will primarily focus on clients who are undergoing detoxification and addressing co-occurring mental health disorders. This population often experiences complex challenges, including anxiety, depression, and trauma related to their experiences with substance use. Your role will be vital in creating a safe and supportive environment for clients to share their stories and work towards recovery.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Bachelorโ€™s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California.
  • At least two (2) years of post-licensure experience providing clinical social work services, preferably in a substance use or mental health setting.
  • Proficiency in conducting diagnostic assessments and crafting treatment plans based on clinical best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse populations and build rapport with clients quickly.
  • A strong commitment to cultural competence, social justice initiatives, and ethical practice standards in clinical settings.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in a detox or similar recovery setting, with a demonstrated understanding of substance use issues and related mental health concerns.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic practices such as DBT, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
  • History of participation in clinical supervision or peer consultation processes.
