At a Glance

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for an Azure Data Engineer to join our Information Technology Team. This is a remote position.

Lead the design, development, and optimization of enterprise data platforms on Azure. This role will be instrumental in advancing our data modernization strategy, including Azure Fabric adoption, data lakehouse architecture, and integration of enterprise systems such as ERP, MDM, and analytics platforms.

This role will work closely with business, analytics, and governance teams to deliver scalable, high-performance data solutions that enable trusted, data-driven decision-making.

What Will You Do?

    Design and implement scalable data platforms using Azure (ADLS, Azure SQL, Microsoft Fabric).
  • Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Fabric pipelines, notebooks (PySpark/Spark SQL), and Azure Integration Services (ADF, Logic Apps, Event Grid, Service Bus).
  • Implement Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) and Lakehouse design patterns.
  • Develop and maintain data models (dimensional, star/snowflake where applicable).
  • Integrate data from heterogeneous sources (ERP, APIs, flat files, streaming sources, MDM/PIM systems).
  • Develop data processing solutions for large-scale structured and unstructured datasets.
  • Enable Power BI datasets and semantic models to support reporting and analytics.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices using Azure DevOps, GitHub, Repo.
  • Ensure data quality, governance, lineage, and security using tools such as Microsoft Purview.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Lead performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting of data pipelines and queries.
  • Leading cloud migration and modernization initiatives, including legacy system transitions (SSIS, Tabular, Multidimensional cubes).
  • Drive adoption of modern data architecture principles and best practices.
  • Collaborate with team members and contribute to establishing engineering standards and reusable frameworks.
  • Provide ongoing production support and operational maintenance, including monitoring data pipelines, troubleshooting issues, optimizing performance, and ensuring data reliability and availability across the platform.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Support data team in the IT systems impact assessment when there is a data change requests.
Qualifications
  • Experience with Data management systems and processes:
    • 8+ years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, and analytics
    • 6+ years of experience in cloud transformation initiatives
    • 5+ years hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure data platform
    • 3+ years hands-on experience with Azure Fabric / lakehouse architecture
  • Azure Data Platform:
    • Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen2)
    • Azure Data Factory (ADF)
    • Azure Fabric
    • Azure SQL Database / Data Warehouse
  • Strong experience with Azure Integration Services:
    • Logic Apps, Function Apps, Service Bus, Event Grid, API Management

    • Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, ARM templates, Bicep)

  • DevOps:

Education:
