Location: Chicago, IL / Atlanta, GA / Minneapolis, MN (Note: Candidates must be fully onsite in Chicago for the first 2 months)

Work Arrangement: Onsite / Hybrid (Per location policies)

Employment Type: Contract

Duration: 6 Months (07/01/2026 to 12/30/2026)

Pay Range: $58.08/hr. on W2 | $69.80/hr. on C2C

Domain: Banking & Financial Services | Enterprise Data Infrastructure

Application Deadline: June 22, 2026

SKILLS REQUIRED

Primary (Must-Have):

✔️10+ years of enterprise cloud infrastructure engineering experience with deep architecture mastery of Snowflake and Databricks ecosystems.

✔️Advanced network isolation expertise using Azure Private Link, private endpoints, DNS configuration, and VNets to prevent public internet egress.

✔️Production experience implementing Entra ID SSO & SCIM for enterprise SAML/OAuth authentication and automated user provisioning.

✔️Expert-level Infrastructure as Code (IaC) development using Terraform modules (Snowflake + AzureRM providers) utilizing remote state in Azure Blob and storage-lease locking.

✔️Deep experience establishing production CI/CD infrastructure pipelines (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions) featuring PR-gated plan/apply mechanics.

✔️Comprehensive knowledge of Azure Key Vault secrets rotation pipelines, security integration with ADLS Gen2, managed identities, and external staging.

Secondary (Good to Have):

✔️Observability implementation using Azure Monitor (streaming Snowflake audit logs to Log Analytics via Event Hub, building dashboards).

✔️Experience configuring and troubleshooting Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines and Event Hub ingest consumers feeding Snowflake.

✔️Implementation of Policy-as-Code frameworks such as Sentinel or Open Policy Agent (OPA) embedded directly inside Terraform workflows.

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking an elite, 10+ year Senior Snowflake Infrastructure Architect with Databricks expertise to drive critical cloud data platform modernization for a major financial institution. Based initially in Chicago for the first two months, this technical architect will own the design, isolation, and automated deployment of enterprise data platforms on Microsoft Azure. The candidate will be directly responsible for building ironclad private networking, scaling custom infrastructure pipelines through Terraform, enforcing least-privilege security policies, and managing data pipeline boundaries across core storage systems.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

✔️Private Network Architecture: Architect, deploy, and maintain zero-trust network boundary layers across Snowflake and Databricks using Azure Private Link, private endpoints, custom DNS routing, Network Security Groups (NSGs), and firewall rules.

✔️Infrastructure Automation (IaC): Develop, package, and govern modular enterprise Terraform blueprints incorporating Snowflake and AzureRM providers while managing remote state mechanisms securely in Azure Blob storage.

✔️Identity & Access Management: Wire up enterprise identity perimeters using Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), driving secure authentication via SAML/OAuth protocols and automating identity lifecycles with SCIM.

✔️CI/CD Pipeline Engineering: Build, secure, and scale continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines inside Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, embedding rigorous pull-request (PR) gating frameworks across multi-stage environments.

✔️Secrets & Storage Governance: Configure end-to-end data lake security boundaries by binding ADLS Gen2 storage integrations with Snowflake external stages via Azure Managed Identities, while managing automated credentials rotation via Azure Key Vault.

✔️Data Flow Co-ownership: Provide architecture review and cross-functional support for downstream Azure Data Factory and Event Hub ingestion engines landing unstructured and structured data pipelines into the core lakehouse.
