Job Title : Sr Data Engineer with Teradata & Snowflake

Location : Remote ( Bay Area,CA )

Exp Req : 10-15 Yrs

Rate : $70/Hr on 1099 (max)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer with strong expertise in Teradata and Snowflake to design, develop, and optimize enterprise data platforms. The ideal candidate will have experience building scalable data pipelines, data warehousing solutions, cloud-based data architectures, and ETL/ELT processes to support business intelligence and analytics initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines and data integration solutions.
  • Migrate and modernize legacy Teradata data warehouse environments to Snowflake.
  • Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes using industry-standard tools and frameworks.
  • Create and maintain Snowflake data models, schemas, tables, views, and stored procedures.
  • Write complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, validation, and performance tuning.
  • Implement data quality, governance, security, and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, data analysts, architects, and application teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline failures and performance issues.
  • Optimize Snowflake compute and storage utilization to improve efficiency and control costs.
  • Support reporting, analytics, and machine learning initiatives by providing reliable data solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Teradata Data Warehouse development.
  • Strong experience with Snowflake Data Cloud.
  • Advanced SQL development and query optimization skills.
  • Experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT processes.
  • Experience with data modeling, dimensional modeling, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Shell, or PowerShell.
  • Experience with version control tools such as Git.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Teradata-to-Snowflake migration projects.
  • Experience with orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, Control-M, or Autosys.
  • Experience with Informatica, Talend, DataStage, Matillion, or similar ETL tools.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps practices.
  • Snowflake certification is a plus.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
