• Conduct in-depth assessments to evaluate clients' mood disorder symptoms, focusing on the severity, frequency, and impact on daily functioning.
• Develop individualized treatment plans collaboratively with clients, ensuring alignment with personal goals and therapy objectives.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), tailored to the unique needs of each client.
• Offer education and support to clients and their families about mood disorders, treatment alternatives, and effective self-care practices.
• Monitor client progress throughout treatment and make adjustments to the therapeutic approach as needed, ensuring an adaptive response to treatment effectiveness.
• Integrate care with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals, ensuring a holistic approach to patient treatment and support.
• Commit to ongoing professional development by staying updated with the latest research in mood disorders and incorporating new findings into treatment strategies.
• Maintain thorough and confidential documentation of client interactions, assessments, and therapeutic interventions, complying with all legal and ethical standards.
• Engage in regular case consultations and team meetings to discuss client care and share best practices among colleagues.
• Advocate for clients, contributing to community efforts aimed at decreasing the stigma associated with mood disorders and enhancing access to mental health services.

This role focuses on providing therapeutic support primarily to individuals confronting mood disorders such as depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety-related issues. Our diverse patient population represents a range of backgrounds, which enriches the therapeutic experience and allows for a broad application of tailored therapeutic techniques.

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Virginia.
• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience, specifically in treating mood disorders.
• Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic modalities, particularly CBT and DBT.
• A solid understanding of psychopharmacology and the ability to collaborate effectively with psychiatrists and healthcare providers.
• Exceptional communication skills and the capability to build strong rapport with a diverse clientele.

• Demonstrated success in achieving positive clinical outcomes in treating mood disorders.
