Job description

Manager of Sales - Wyoming, Michigan
ย
DISHER is currently partnering with the largest residential production home builder in West Michigan, on their Manager of Sales opportunity. In this role, you will own the go-to-market sales strategy, lead and motivate a growing sales team, and play a central part in shaping how one of the region's fastest-growing homebuilders continues to scale. This is a high-impact leadership position reporting directly to ownership, with real influence over team structure, community-level sales strategy, and the customer experience across all of their markets.
ย
What it's like to work here:
ย
This organization is built on being entrepreneurial, collaborative, and people-first , the kind of place where your ideas are heard by ownership directly and where your work translates into tangible results in the communities where people live.
What you will get to do:
  • Lead, motivate, and coach the sales team day-to-day, creating accountability and building a culture of performance.
  • Design and implement strategic go-to-market plans for each community and product line, including pricing, promotions, and incentive programs.
  • Develop and present a staffing strategy for the sales team as annual volume continues to grow beyond 400 homes.
  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Marketing on community launches, new product introductions (including townhomes and short-term rental properties), and brand-level messaging.
  • Drive weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales objectives and prepare accurate, data-driven sales reports and recommendations for ownership.
  • Own the customer relationship from first contact through contract, cultivating loyalty and ensuring an exceptional experience.
  • Manage escalations and resolve customer issues before they reach the VP of Sales or ownership.
  • Assess the competitive landscape and adjust selling strategies, pricing, and community positioning accordingly.
  • Negotiate and approve sales contracts, working within company guidelines to close deals.
  • Develop and run a sales training program for current team members and new additions.
  • Create product selections and design offerings that are on trend and aligned with the needs of the markets they serve.
  • Operate as a visible field leader. Present in communities, at model homes, and engaged with the markets across their growing geography.
What will make you successful:
  • Experience in residential home building sales, specifically with a private production home builder; this is the most critical requirement for this role.
  • Proven track record of leading and growing a residential sales team in a high-volume environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute a go-to-market sales strategy, not just manage a team that follows one.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills. Ability to develop a staffing plan, articulate a vision for the sales department, and make decisions that are ahead of growth rather than reactive to it.
  • Data fluency - ability to analyze sales performance, build reports, and make strategic recommendations to ownership based on trends and metrics.
  • Experience with contract management and the residential sales process from first visit through close.
  • A relationship-first, West Michigan mindset. Someone who understands that homebuying in this market is personal, and who builds trust naturally with buyers and internal teams alike.
  • The personality to motivate and energize a sales team, balanced with the discipline to manage process, set expectations, and drive accountability.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial, privately held company where the pace is fast and the org structure is lean.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to communicate effectively with ownership, cross-functional teams, and customers.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Must have the current and continuing right to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.
