Job description

Summary
This position is located in the Division of Administration, Facilities and Property Branch. The incumbent is responsible for storage coordination and space utilization, and conference room setups, as well as shipment and receiving of product and mail, bulk items, office supplies and equipment for the NLRB Headquarters and offices throughout the US. The incumbent also provides support for storage and distribution warehouse facilities, principally handling office equipment, supplies and furniture.

As a, Distribution Facilities Specialist, GS- 2030-9, your typical work assignments may include:
  • Ensures mission operations work concerned with receiving, handling, storage, issuing, conference room set up, and physically controlling items in storage;
  • Analyzes and plans workload data and recommends priorities and distribution of resources, including labor and equipment for assigned organizational areas;
  • Resolves inadequacies of mechanized and materials handling equipment, physical facilities, work methods and techniques, and other operation deficiencies that prevent proper receipt, handling, and physical control of material;
  • Participates in organizing, planning, and conducting studies related to problems or areas of concern, including bin and bulk storage space and receiving and shipping functions;
  • Corresponds with agency employees and vendors to ensure that work and supply requests are complete and assists with ensuring that a property inventory of all accountable assets in the warehouse is conducted annually.

The ideal candidate for the Distribution Facilities Specialist (Warehouse & Supply Specialist) position will have experience in warehouse, supply, and distribution operations, including receiving, shipping, storage, inventory control, and materials handling. The ideal candidate will also be detail-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities, and committed to maintaining accurate inventory and efficient warehouse operations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-07 grade level, which has provided them with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the Distribution Facilities Specialist at the GS-09 grade level.
Specialized experience includes:
  • Experience performing warehouse and distribution operations, including receiving, handling, storing, issuing, shipping, and physically controlling supplies, equipment, furniture, or other materials;
  • Experience analyzing warehouse or supply operations, including storage space utilization, workload requirements, materials handling equipment, or work methods, and identifying or recommending solutions to operational deficiencies; AND
  • Experience coordinating supply and inventory activities, including maintaining accountability of assets, conducting or supporting physical inventories, processing supply or work requests, and coordinating with customers, vendors, or other stakeholders.

OR
EDUCATION: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related (Note: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.).

COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100 percent. (Note: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.)

TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS
All current and former Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year of experience at the GS-07 or equivalent grade level of the federal service, is required to qualify for this position.
