About Halker:
Halker Consulting is a nationwide provider of multi-disciplined Engineering, Design, Project Management, Procurement and Field Services for Oil & Gas, and other Energy industry sectors.
The company specializes in Oil and Gas surface facilities, Power Infrastructure, Environmental Remediation and Design, Automation and Digital Solutions, and federal, state, and local regulatory compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for working with and giving direction to fellow mechanical engineering team members for project execution support.
  • Perform mechanical engineering tasks and calculations for oil and gas projects inclusive of:
    • Perform pipe sizing and pressure loss calculations
    • Create piping specifications and CAD files in CADWorx
    • P&IDs creation and review
    • Engineering evaluations
    • Review & preparation of line lists & equipment lists
    • Perform basic CADD drafting
    • Review of bill of materials BOM
  • Duties also include preparing of equipment data sheets, equipment specifications, equipment design and development, updating and maintaining construction documents, preparing and reviewing MRQs / RFQs.
  • Interpret and review Models, piping plans, piping sections and piping isometrics
  • Identify, interpret and apply relevant codes and standards to engineering designs
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff including senior management, clients, and other disciplines.
  • Ability to travel to support field work activities periodically (including site commissioning).
  • Ability to analyze, define, and solve problems.
  • Ability to prioritize workflow, multitask, meet deadlines, and remain flexible.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors' Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience with some of the duties and task listed in the essential duties section
  • Experience with common O&G facilities including: compressor stations, liquid and gas storage, tank batteries, plant and metering facilities.
  • Ideally 5+ years of experience in oil and gas or closely related industry
  • PE / EIT preferred
  • Remote Work Requirement: Candidates must have access to a reliable high-speed internet connection with a minimum download speed of 500 Mbps to support video conferencing, large file transfers, and other bandwidth-intensive tasks essential for remote collaboration
