Responsibilities

Senior Director, Commercial & Procurement Finance

Remote

The Senior Director, Commercial & Procurement Finance is a strategic finance leader responsible for driving profitable growth across a multi-plant North American food manufacturing network (16 factories). This role partners closely with Commercial and Procurement leadership to align revenue growth strategies with disciplined cost management and margin expansion. The position serves as the finance partner to both organizations—translating financial insights into actionable strategies that improve customer profitability, optimize input costs, and enable data-driven decision-making.

Your seat at the table:

Strategic Business Partnership

  • Act as the lead finance partner to Commercial and Procurement leadership teams
  • Provide financial leadership on growth initiatives, sourcing strategies, and margin optimization
  • Strategic input on pricing strategies and structure
  • Influence decision-making through data-driven insights and scenario modeling
  • Support executive leadership with financial analysis and presentations

Pricing & Revenue Management

  • Lead pricing strategy across products, customers, and channels
  • Develop and maintain pricing models to optimize margin and volume
  • Oversee price realization, customer spend and promotional ROI
  • Establish governance and consistency in pricing practices

Procurement Finance & Cost Management

  • Analyze input cost trends and identify margin risks and opportunities
  • Provide financial leadership on sourcing strategy and supplier economics
  • Partner on cost savings initiatives and contract evaluation
  • Evaluate supplier decisions using total cost frameworks

Customer & Channel Profitability

  • Analyze profitability by SKU, customer, plant, and channel
  • Improve mix, reduce leakage, and optimize contract terms
  • Support key customer negotiations with financial insights

Forecasting, Planning & Performance Management

  • Reviews and aligns on commercial and procurement inputs to budgeting and forecasting
  • Develop integrated revenue and margin forecasts
  • Monitor performance vs plan and identify risks and opportunities

Analytics & Insights

  • Build analytics capabilities across revenue and input costs
  • Develop dashboards to track pricing, margins, and cost trends
  • Provide insights on market dynamics and inflation

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner with Commercial, R&D, Supply Chain, Procurement, Marketing, and Finance
  • Ensure alignment between commercial, procurement, and plant economics

Team Leadership & Capability Development

  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team
  • Develop capabilities in pricing, analytics, and business partnering
  • Foster a culture of accountability and collaboration

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Gross margin expansion and price realization
  • Customer profitability improvement
  • Material cost savings and margin improvement
  • Forecast accuracy
  • Revenue growth aligned with targets
  • Accuracy and Governance of Pricing and Pricing Models

Qualifications

What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • MBA or CPA preferred
  • 12–15+ years of progressive finance experience
  • Experience in commercial finance and procurement finance
  • CPG or food manufacturing experience preferred
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
  • Ability to influence executive stakeholders
  • Leadership and team-building capabilities
  • Proficiency in data analytics tools
  • Strategic, results-oriented, and collaborative leader
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills
  • 25–40% travel
