Responsibilities
  • Install, test, and configure to networking standards, patch, monitor, backup, and maintain various Windows Server operating systems and associated software utilizing physical and virtual hardware.
  • Utilize volume management techniques to create, maintain, expand, and shrink file systems; monitor performance of the file systems.
  • Utilize system tools to monitor performance, capacity, availability and perform operating system tuning.Support on-premise VMware vSphere workloads and assist with the transition of workloads into Azure, including rehosting planning, image standardization, and configuration alignment.
  • Supports Windows Server environments in commercial cloud providers like Azure.
  • Leverage cloud-native tools and services (e.g., Azure Monitor, Azure Update Management, Defender for Cloud) to manage system health, performance, and compliance.
  • Configure and maintain Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and related Windows services across hybrid environments.
  • Harden systems per client Cyber-Security Policies, Standards, Regulations, and Notices. Security monitoring and updating of certification/accreditation procedures.
  • Address and resolve security vulnerabilities related to operating system software.
  • Add and remove client domain user accounts and roles as necessary.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Tier 3 customer service requests and incidents for system problems, to include liaising with customers and vendors if needed, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Support automating tasks using client automation tools like Ansible.
  • Maintain and contribute to enterprise source code and configuration (GitLab) repositories.
  • Provide 24x7/365 remote support services and on-premises facility response as needed.
  • Document and perform changes and resolve incidents and problems using client's Configuration Management Tools and Systems.
  • Provide knowledge transfer documentation to the client as required.
  • Participate in Agile project management and a DevSecOps culture as required.

Qualifications
  • As a requirement of this position, all candidates must be either a U.S. Citizen or have official legal status in the United States in accordance with 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(2)(C).
  • Must be able to pass a federal background Investigation and obtain a Public Trust
  • 6+ years of demonstrated engineering level experience supporting the Microsoft Windows Server operating system in an enterprise datacenter environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing Windows workloads in Azure, ideally including Azure VMware Solution or similar hybrid hosting models.
  • Ability to lead efforts of analysis and resolution of problems or issues and identifies when and how to escalate problems to the appropriate level.
  • Experience and comfort with change and ambiguity given the ever-evolving nature of the business.
  • Experience collaborating with Technology and Business Teams to deliver solutions that meet business objectives.
  • Must be able to work well in a collaborative team environment, but also independently.
  • Strong detail orientation supported by the ability to take a structured approach to achieve long-term objectives and build sustainable routines.
  • Demonstrated experience in coding/scripting in PowerShell and infrastructure automation.
  • Experience using automation tools (Ansible is preferred).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in the English language. All contractor employees must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Pay Transparency Statement
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $85,000.00/Yr. - USD $100,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
