Overview

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training.

Responsibilities
    Position requires regular script writing and debugging of computer system activities (PowerShell or Python). Candidates should expect that 50% of their time be spent on scripting tasks.
  • Create scripts to automate repetitive tasks or to make items that can be executed by help desk staff.
  • Work closely with Stakeholders and vendors to ensure the implementation of the vendor product meets Stakeholder's requirements. Demonstrate vendor product to Stakeholders (in some cases end users) to generate feedback on the system.
  • Provide Tier II technical support for assigned products to end user. Conduct root cause analyzes and investigates technical issues reported by customers by analyzing the diagnostics available depending on the system such as the product logs, application code, Java thread dump, heap dump, network log and garbage collection logs to provide root cause analysis and solutions for issues.
  • Experience working with Active Directory Domain Controller, Remote Server tools, and managing assets, user and group system access issues.
  • Ability to learn, understand and implement SQL Server Profiler (monitoring) and Agent (automation) tools.
  • Provide support using your understanding of Windows, some Linux, some VMWare / Hyper-V and or Remote Desktop.
  • Have experience setting up, repairing basic computer equipment to include installing new or replacement of computer drives and memory.
  • Able to prepare technical designs, and documentation (ie- knowledgebase articles) for use by help desk. Documentation will include Service Request Tracking System notes documenting environment, problem description, analysis, next steps (with task owners and dates), and a comprehensive solution description.
Qualifications
  • Active Top-Secret Clearance required with a willingness to take an agency CI polygraph when requested.
  • High School Diploma (HS) and 8+ years, Associates Degree (AS) and 6+ years, Bachelors' Degree (BS) and 3+ years or Masters' Degree (MS) and 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • 4 - 6 years relevant experience to job description. 3 years relevant PowerShell or Python scripting. Bash scripting experience is desired
  • Strong oral and written communications skills and able to effectively brief audiences.
  • Have the ability to organize work so assignments are completed in a timely manner, perform analysis and quickly resolve issues, multi-task, and or take direction from lead team members.
  • Occasional work at different locations within the Washington Metro Area and some domestic travel required.

Pay Transparency Statement
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $110,800.00/Yr. - USD $185,100.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
