Job Description

U.S. Bank is seeking the position of Senior Software Engineer - Data Engineering in Irving, TX.

Essential Responsibilities:

The Senior Software Engineer - Data Engineering will be responsible for the end-to-end design and development of solutions that support digital and marketing initiatives. The Senior Software Engineer - Data Engineering will analyze and design features with a comprehensive understanding of user impact, data flows, and the feature's purpose to ensure effective implementation. Responsibilities include: create project proposals and designs that have considerable impact and span multiple systems; evaluate scalability, reliability, and performance of systems and contexts when defining technical designs; apply a thorough understanding of the business model to inform decisions within the product focus area; analyzing, designing, and developing data-driven applications leveraging Python, Apache Spark, and Hadoop for large-scale data processing and analytics; integrating and processing data from multiple sources, including Hadoop, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL), and ELZ, ensuring data consistency and quality; optimizing database performance through advanced query tuning, indexing, and schema design; developing APIs and integration services for seamless data exchange between enterprise applications and platforms; monitoring and troubleshooting application performance using Splunk and Datadog, ensuring system reliability and proactive issue resolution; implementing scalable big data solutions, utilizing Spark for in-memory computation and Hadoop for distributed storage; and collaborating with data architects and business analysts to translate complex requirements into robust technical solutions. Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of worksite location. Multiple openings.

Basic Qualifications:

Requires a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Business Analytics or Engineering (any) plus 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in marketing automation and software development related to email, SMS, and push messaging platforms.

Required Skills/Experience:
Must possess 5 years of experience with each of the following: participating in all Architecture design discussions in setting up the Adobe campaign Tool; developing email and SMS templates for real time messaging platform; involved in the initial discovery/analysis phase and story grooming for various projects for understanding during the project initiation phase; tracking and reporting project metrics, and measurements based on the SLA; creating Technical Specification Documents that defines the business in technical terms; creating and the delivering the User requirement specification (URS) document, Business technical requirement definition (BTRD) documents, and BSD (Business specification document); designing and implementing broad log reports and data loading workflows; implementing Accessibility code in Templates; working with clients to identify campaign requirements to design and build campaigns; supporting running campaigns and implementing enhancements over different Marketing campaigns; .Adobe Campaign; SOAP; App Dynamics; WinSCP; JIRA; Service Now; and Splunk. Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of worksite location.
