EMPLOYER: Optum Services, Inc.
JOB TITLE: Senior Software Engineer

LOCATION: 12357-C Riata Trace Parkway, Bldg. 7, Austin, TX 78727

DUTIES: Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Duties to include: Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines to ingest, transform, and store healthcare data from various enterprise data sources; Analyze raw data sources, data transformation, structural requirements for new software and application; Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, such as Data encryption, Data de-identification to ensure data security, Role-based data access, Automate manual processes, Optimize data delivery, and Tune and optimize data processes for greater scalability; Design, build and implement automation processes for production release of data engineering, machine learning and business intelligence processes; Code, test, document, and maintain high-quality and scalable Big Data solutions; Define security and backup strategy for data solutions; Build and implement batch and near real time data pipelines; Help to ensure successful deployment of newly implemented data solutions; Work with less structured, more complex issues; and Serve as a technical leader and mentor to others.

REQUIREMENTS: Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or in a Senior Software Engineer-related occupation. Gained progressive experience in the following:

    Oracle 12c/11g/10g/9i SQL/PLSQL and Postgres SQL; 
    Data Modeling; 
    Unix shell Scripting; 
    Java (JEE), Spark, Python, or Scala; 
    Docker; 
    Cloud platforms such as Google, AWS, Azure, Airflow, Splunk or Github; 
    SQL and object-oriented / object functional scripting languages such as Python, Scala, and Java; 
    GitHub and cloud environment tools; 
    Developing big data processes using big data tools such as Spark, Hadoop, and Kafka; 
    Data Quality and Data Security process, tools and technologies such as Pychm;
    Healthcare industry technology such as EDI, HIPAA, HL7 and FHIR integration standards; 
    Data Virtualization tools and technology such as Microsoft BI tool or SSIS; 
    Spark in data processing and machine learning processes; 
    Open-source software platforms and languages such as Java, Angular, Scala Linux, Apache, and Unix; and 
    API technologies.

RATE OF PAY: $163,550 - $ 195,174 per year
