As the name suggests, this is a senior position that is usually only available to applicants who have many years of experience managing projects.

Can project managers work fully remote?

Remote senior project managers can work fully remotely, especially in industries that rely on digital tools and virtual collaboration platforms. Many organizations now offer remote or hybrid arrangements for project management roles, provided candidates have strong communication skills, relevant certifications, and proficiency with project management software. Job description

Industry: Hyperscale & AI Data Centers | Cloud Computing

Location: Remote (USA) - 25% travel required

Preferred Residence: Washington, D.C., Phoenix (AZ), Memphis (TN), Columbus (OH), or nearby regions

At 5C, we are building the future of hyperscale and AI infrastructure.

We deliver advanced data center and cloud solutions supporting the world's most demanding AI, GPU, and high-performance computing environments. From hyperscale facilities to next-generation liquid-cooled GPU platforms, we enable customers to achieve exceptional reliability, scalability, and operational performance.

We are seeking a highly technical, hands-on Technical Project Manager (TPM) to lead complex infrastructure deployments across our U.S. data centers.

This is not a traditional PMO role.

We are looking for someone who understands what is inside the infrastructure-not just someone who manages timelines. The ideal candidate has real experience with physical data center deployments, server infrastructure, GPU clusters, power and cooling systems, hardware validation, and cross-functional execution in fast-paced deployment environments.

This role requires someone who can operate with a builder mindset, solve problems independently, and drive execution in a high-growth environment where speed and technical depth matter.

What You'll Be Contributing

  • Lead end-to-end project management for cloud infrastructure deployments, including L10, L11, and L12 server and rack solutions
  • Manage deployment of high-density GPU systems, including liquid-cooled and air-cooled rack environments
  • Coordinate infrastructure acceptance, validation, and integration into production environments
  • Oversee integration of advanced cooling technologies including direct-to-chip, liquid cooling, and immersion cooling
  • Partner with engineering, procurement, logistics, construction, and operations teams to ensure on-time delivery
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, resource planning, risk mitigation, and deployment readiness
  • Troubleshoot technical deployment issues and drive resolution across teams
  • Ensure compliance with internal standards, customer requirements, ISO 27001, SOC 2, and operational security requirements
  • Support improvements to deployment workflows, documentation, and operational handoff processes
  • Communicate milestones, risks, and technical dependencies clearly across internal and external stakeholders

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in technical project management within cloud infrastructure, hardware deployment, or data center environments
  • Strong hands-on understanding of:
  • Compute: L10–L12 server architectures, GPU systems, virtualization, containerization
  • Storage: SAN, NAS, and distributed storage systems
  • Networking: high-speed interconnects, SDN, network fabric design, InfiniBand preferred
  • Cooling: direct-to-chip liquid cooling, immersion cooling, advanced air cooling
  • Power: UPS, PDU, high-density power distribution, efficiency optimization
  • Strong understanding of data center operations, facility layout, MEP coordination, cooling, and power infrastructure
  • Experience with infrastructure acceptance, hardware validation, commissioning, and QA processes
  • Proven ability to lead complex technical deployments with tight timelines and high visibility
  • Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Comfortable with technical deep-dive interviews around infrastructure components and deployment troubleshooting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with mechanical and electrical engineering schedules (MEP)
  • Experience deploying infrastructure in hyperscale cloud providers or large-scale colocation facilities
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards such as ASHRAE, Uptime Institute, and data center operational standards
  • Exposure to automation or orchestration tools used in infrastructure provisioning and monitoring
  • PMP, PMI-ACP, or equivalent project management certification is a plus

Why Join Us

At 5C Data Centers, you will:

  • Deploy next-generation AI and high-performance infrastructure at scale
  • Work with industry-leading engineers, architects, and hardware specialists
  • Gain visibility with senior leadership across cloud and infrastructure operations
  • Thrive in a culture that values innovation, speed, and technical excellence
  • Shape the systems that power the world's most advanced computing platforms
