Job description

OVERVIEW: A Senior Survey Project Manager is responsible for developing a substantial amount of new business serving as a key contact with major clients. Extensive knowledge of standard practices for land surveying is necessary. Must have the capability to follow projects through to completion which includes clients' meetings, project team communication, monitoring budget and progress, and A/R collections.

DURING YOUR WORK DAY, YOU WILL:

  • Successfully lead and supervise a project team on projects of all sizes and levels of complexity. Ensure that all aspects of the project are followed through to completion which includes clients' meetings, project team communication, monitoring budget and progress and A/R collections.
  • Support business development efforts, lead the preparation of proposals.
  • Efficiently balance workload and resources.
  • Develop new, and maintain existing, client relationships. Serve as key contact with clients.
  • Conduct critical negotiations and handle controversial issues. Exercise skill in persuading and negotiating of critical issues. Demonstrate good judgment in handling and solving complex technical and people assignments.
  • Draw on your extensive knowledge of standard practices for land surveying. Be generally recognized as an expert in the field. Provide technical, design and project management services in support of surveying.
  • Personally be able to carry out complex or novel assignments requiring the development and implementation of new or improved techniques or procedures.
  • Be active in professional organizations, professional development and mentoring of staff. Maintain a network of relationships within the field.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • North Carolina PLS (Professional Land Surveyor) Licensure is required
  • 10 plus years of experience in geomatics.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and CAD.
  • Excellent grasp of the Geomatics fields along with leadership, team building and communication abilities.
  • Excellent understanding of all aspects of the consulting business including finance, IT and human resource functions.
  • A valid driver's license, an acceptable motor vehicle record, cleared background check and a negative drug test result.
